On call support and weekend work are also part of this role. The ideal candidate will need strong communication skills and be well organized.In the Technology division, we leverage innovation to build the connections and capabilities that power our Firm, enabling our clients and colleagues to redefine markets and shape the future of our communities.This is a Linux System Administrator position which is part of the job family responsible for maintaining the stability and reliability of the organization's infrastructure systems, ensuring optimal performance and availability to support business operations.Since 1935, Morgan Stanley is known as a global leader in financial services, always evolving and innovating to better serve our clients and our communities in more than 40 countries around the world.What you’ll do in the role:Develop procedures and tools that enable Morgan Stanley's distributed plant to scale effectively by eliminating repetitive operational tasks.Manage the usual core infrastructure parts such as DHCP, DNS, NTP and a self-maintained global software distribution system and its filesystem backend.Manage the physical system firmware and remotely troubleshoot hardware.Work with various customers in a number of different business units during outage scenarios and assist in scaling their plant.What you’ll bring to the role:At least 3 years’ relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this roleExperience of supporting, managing and debugging large scale production environmentsUnderstanding of the virtualization and microservices and physical infrastructuresIn depth experience Linux System administration, preferably Red Hat LinuxKnowledge of clustering technologies preferably Veritas Cluster Server or any other similar with high availability product conceptionAbility to read and write code on any Unix shell environment, Perl and/or PythonKnowledge of TCP/IP, experience with host level networking and security concepts, implementation, and troubleshootingAbility to debug complex problemsExperience with Change Management and Problem management practicesEffective oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills are essential, as well as the ability to work well in a global team environmentStrong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and high pressure situations for outage handling, management or resolution#BPTECH #LI-hybrid #FT-1 WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM MORGAN STANLEY: At Morgan Stanley, we raise, manage and allocate capital for our clients – helping them reach their goals.
