The Laboratory Technician, using general laboratory methods, techniques, equipment, and instrumentation in compliance with Eurofins’ Quality Assurance programs and SOP’s, supports laboratory operations through general maintenance of laboratory and supply storage areas, equipment, instruments, and supplies. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesRetrieves samples from Sample Control for analysis and maintains chain of custody.Performs sample preparation which may include, but is not limited to, a combination of the following methods:Aliquot samplesSpike and trace samplesPrepare reagents/acids/basesBottle samplesPrepare concentrationsSeparationSonicationLiquid rack set upResolves discrepancies and anomalies to ensure samples are properly labeled.Prepares general laboratory paperwork such as recording analysis results, tracking samples, bench sheets, and laboratory logbooks.Washes laboratory glassware to prepare for next day’s samples.Responsible for performing job functions within Eurofins Environment Testing America’s Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance standards.Maintains housekeeping for work area.Preforms daily calibration of pipettes and balances.Properly disposes of hazardous and non-hazardous waste and recycling. Secondary DutiesStocks laboratory supplies.Cleans work area(s) to maintain a safe working environment.Assists other laboratory areas as neededQualificationsMinimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentHigh school Chemistry coursework, basic laboratory experiencePrevious production-oriented work helpful (awareness and ability to meet deadlines)Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorshipProfessional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in EnglishMinimum Skills and Abilities:SkillsGood OrganizationGood CommunicationGood Problem SolvingAbilitiesAbility to Multi-taskLearn QuicklyWork IndependentlyWork within Time ConstraintsKnowledgeGeneral Knowledge of Chemistry and/or ScienceBasic MathematicsKnowledge of Production WorkRequirementsWorking with ComputersWorking with Laboratory GlasswareWorking with Laboratory Instruments / EquipmentUse of Personal Protective EquipmentAdditional InformationPosition is full-time, non-exempt from overtime pay with flexibility for overtime and weekend coverage as needed.
