Save Report this job JOB TITLE: SPECIAL EDUCATION AIDEWAGE/HOUR STATUS: NonexemptREPORTS TO: PrincipalPAY GRADE: Para 030/187 daysJob GoalAssist the special education teacher to provide for the physical and instructional needs of students with disabilities. Assist in the implementation of classroom programs, including self-help, behavior management, and instruction. Work under the general supervision of the principal and the immediate direction of a certified teacher and/or diagnostician.QualificationsEducational Aide I Paraprofessional CertificateHigh School Diploma or GEDSpecial Knowledge/SkillsAbility to work well with children with disabilitiesAbility to follow verbal and written instructionsEffective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skillsExperienceExperience working with children/students, parents, or persons with disabilitiesMajor Performance Responsibilities And Duties Maintain confidentiality Keep accurate records of students with disabilities and furnish to appropriate personnel in a timely manner Assist in supervising students throughout the school day, both inside and outside the classroom, including lunchroom, bus duty, playground, and community Assist teacher and/or diagnostician in maintaining, copying, transferring confidential folders as required Assist special needs students with individual tasks as may be required including, but not limited to, transferring to and from wheelchairs, lifting, positioning, feeding, bathroom needs, personal hygiene Assist in managing the behavior of students and crisis intervention Assume responsibility for learning and adapting to each student's special medical, physical, communicative, emotional, and safety needs through in-service and/or teacher direction...
