This is a key leadership role where you’ll shape performance, develop people, and drive continuous improvement, all while ensuring exceptional service to our clients.What you’ll be doingAs Laboratory Manager, you’ll take full ownership of laboratory operations, balancing commercial performance, technical excellence, and team leadership.Leading day-to-day laboratory operations, ensuring samples are processed and reported on timeDriving performance, efficiency, and profitability across the labManaging, coaching, and developing a high-performing teamEnsuring compliance with quality standards, UKAS requirements, and HSE proceduresBuilding strong client relationships and resolving issues proactivelyIdentifying opportunities for continuous improvement and business growthQualificationsWhat we’re looking forWe’re looking for a confident and capable leader who combines technical expertise with a commercial mindset.EssentialStrong technical knowledge of petrochemical testing standards (IP, ASTM, ISO, CEN)Familiarity with advanced analytical techniques, such as: GC-MS, LC-MS & ICPProven experience in a laboratory or service environment within the petrochemical sectorExperience leading teams and driving performanceExcellent communication skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholdersStrong understanding of HSE and quality systemsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentWhy join SGS?At SGS, you’ll be part of a global organisation known for quality, integrity, and innovation.
