You'll work alongside agentic coding tools, ship real features into a production codebase serving paying customers, and learn what it takes to build and operate AI systems in the real world. This is a fully remote role with occasional in-person opportunities on the Northshore.What you'll doPair with the CTO on shipping features and improvements into Cantaloupe AI's production codebaseUse agentic coding tools like Claude Code, OpenCode, or Hermes to accelerate development and tackle real engineering problemsContribute to AI systems work including prompt engineering, evals, retrieval pipelines, and voice interviewer logicDebug, test, and validate code in TypeScript and Postgres environmentsTranslate ambiguous problems into shippable solutions with minimal hand-holdingDocument your work clearly so the team can build on itSurface ideas, edge cases, and opportunities you spot from working in the codebaseWhat we're looking forHands-on experience with agentic coding tools such as Claude Code, OpenCode, Hermes, or similarThinks like an engineer at a gears level (no Leetcode required, just genuine curiosity about how systems actually work)Very high agency, with concrete examples of removing serious obstacles to achieve a goal (work or personal)Self-starter who works independently and doesn't need heavy day-to-day managementCurrently enrolled student, technical or quantitative major preferred but not requiredNice to haveExperience working in a production codebase serving paying customersTypeScript and Postgres experienceHands-on experience building or operating AI systems (LLM applications, voice AI, evals, RAG, agents)Familiarity with version control workflows in Git and GitHubExperience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure) or serverless deploymentInterest in the QSR, hospitality, or HR tech spaceActive in the Louisiana startup or builder communityWork ScheduleWeekdaysMorning (6AM - 12PM)Afternoon (12PM - 6PM)Job DetailsJob TypeContractScheduleWeekdays:Morning, AfternoonReady to apply?Start your interviewJob TypeContractScheduleWeekdays:Morning, AfternoonStart your interview
