DESCRIPTION
Join our collaborative team at Thermo Fisher Scientific, where you'll contribute to strategic growth and innovation in product management. As Senior Manager of Product Management, you will serve as the strategic business owner for a portfolio of single-use equipment and integrated bioprocessing solutions, driving growth through market insight, portfolio strategy, and customer-focused innovation.
This is a highly visible individual contributor leadership role that requires strong cross-functional influence across a global matrix organization. You will partner closely with R&D, operations, commercial, marketing, and regional teams to identify market opportunities, prioritize investments, and deliver solutions that create value for customers and support long-term business growth.
The successful candidate will develop and execute product strategies, manage product roadmaps, lead new product introductions, and drive portfolio profitability throughout the product lifecycle. You will serve as the voice of the customer, translating market needs into actionable product requirements while balancing customer expectations, technical capabilities, and business objectives.
In this role, you will evaluate market trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for portfolio expansion and differentiation. You will support annual operating plans, long-range strategic planning, pricing strategies, and business case development for new investments. Success requires a combination of strategic thinking, commercial acumen, technical understanding, and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
As a key product advocate both internally and externally, you will engage directly with customers, industry partners, and commercial teams to strengthen customer relationships, gather market intelligence, and drive adoption of innovative solutions. REQUIREMENTS
- Advanced Degree plus 6 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 8 years of experience in product management in life sciences, scientific instruments, or related industry
- Preferred Fields of Study: science, engineering, business or related field
- Experience with upstream bioprocessing and familiarity with single use systems
- Experience collaborating with and influencing cross-functional teams in a matrix environment
- Strong strategic planning and business acumen with proven P&L management skills
- Experience developing and launching new products from concept through commercialization
- Deep understanding of product lifecycle management, portfolio planning, and pricing strategies
- Excellent project management abilities and attention to detail
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with ability to influence at all levels
- Demonstrated success gathering Voice of Customer input and translating to product requirements
- Experience working effectively in global, matrixed organizations
- Strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities
- Ability to build collaborative relationships across functions and regions
- Knowledge of regulated environments and quality systems
- Proficiency with standard business software and analytics tools
- Ability to travel 25-30% domestically and internationally
- Customer-centric mindset with proven track record of improving customer experience
- Skilled at developing and executing product launch plans and go-to-market strategies
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in Massachusetts is $143,000.00–$214,475.00.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
