Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector is seeking a Principal/Sr. Principal Mission Engineer Level 3 or Level 4 to join our team in Dulles, VA. Successful candidates for this position will work in a technical role for space and ground programs in Dulles, VA. This position offers the opportunity to work on exciting, cutting-edge programs and new mission areas in the following areas to support next generation space capabilities. This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: * CONOPS and Mission Analysis * Systems Level Integration and Test * Mission Modeling and Simulation * Verification and Validation * Resource Logistics and Execution * Mission Operations Support * Model Based Systems Engineering This position is contingent upon the candidate obtaining final clearances and program access(es) within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company. This position can be filled at either a Level 3 or Level 4. Basic Qualifications for Level 3: * Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of professional experience or Master’s degree with 3 years of professional experience or PhD with 1 year of professional experience * Requires an active Top-Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance at time of application * Experience with a space or ground system development program * Understanding of Systems Engineering principles and practices * Experience in requirements management, system architecture development, and CONOPs. Basic Qualifications for Level 4: * Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of professional experience or Master’s degree with 6 years of professional experience or PhD with 4 years of professional experience * Requires an active Top-Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance at time of application * Experience with a space or ground system development program * Understanding of Systems Engineering principles and practices * Experience in requirements management, system architecture development, and CONOPs.
