The Applications Scientist II is responsible for providing technical support for complex issues to our customers, championing our customer and service organization in new product introductions and design changes and understanding the integration of the Beckman Coulter laboratory solutions 

 

 

This position reports to the Technical Support Manager and is part of the Global Product Technical Support team located in Lismeehan, Co. Clare, Ireland and will be an on-site role. 

 

 

In this role, you will have the opportunity to: 

  • Provide technical support including problem solving and delivering solutions. Communicate support activities to line management and business units. 

  • Actively manage escalations liaising with field and product support specialist to resolve escalations and customer issues. Use technical product knowledge to solve complex problems and to develop and provide solutions in a timely manner. 

  • Encourage teamwork within own function as well as involvement where appropriate in cross functional problem solving initiatives. Ensure compliance is maintained and its effectiveness monitored 

  • Support core team member for complex projects ensuring delivery of assigned tasks in time, regularly communicating New Product Development deliverable status to line management. Lead New product development introductions of moderate complexity and design changes ensuring they are customer implementable and support Service organization in delivering training and product information 

  • Communicate problem solutions and /or investigation outcomes to all appropriate personnel. Attend customer sites to resolve and discuss issues if required. Drive product and process improvement and efficiencies using DBS tools. 

 

 

The essential requirements of the job include: 

  • Will hold a Bachelors degree in science or related field with 2+ years relevant experience or Masters with 0-2 years+. Field of Biochemistry or Clinical Chemistry preferred. 

  • Must have previous experience working in a Technical Support/Research or Clinical environment 

  • Must have excellent communication skills and ability to team work within the group of specialists as well as cross functionally 

  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking capabilities 

  • A team player, fully motivated to achieve and demonstrate best practices 

 

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: 

  • In-vitro Diagnostics Immunoassay or Clinical Chemistry products. 

  • A previous role with customer facing experience.
