Critical Environment Program Manager | Microsoft Careers Skip to main content Microsoft Careers Careers Careers Search Search jobs Sign in Single PositionView All JobsCritical Environment Program ManagerNetherlands, Noord-Holland, AmsterdamApply nowAdd to cartFind out how well you match with this jobUpload your resumeJob descriptionCompany and benefitsJob number200040137Date postedJul 14, 2026Work siteFully on-siteTravelLess than 25%ProfessionData CenterDisciplineData Center Operations ManagementRole typeIndividual ContributorEmployment typeFull-TimeOverviewThe Critical Environment Program Manager (CEPM) is responsible for driving end-to-end delivery of operational and engineering programs across Microsoft Data Center campuses, ensuring safe, compliant, and reliable infrastructure operations.This role acts as the bridge between engineering, operations, compliance, and leadership, owning programs that directly impact availability, risk reduction, and operational excellence.ResponsibilitiesProgram Ownership & DeliveryOwn and deliver critical CE programs including:Break-Fix (BF) reduction and conversion into projectsPreventative Maintenance (PM) performance improvementInfrastructure upgrade and lifecycle programs (e.g. transformers, systems reliability)Drive program execution from initiation → prioritization → execution → closure, ensuring measurable outcomesMaintain clear ownership and accountability across all program deliverablesOperational Excellence & KPI ManagementTrack and improve key KPIs including:Availability / SEV reductionBreak-fix backlog and TTRPM compliance and execution qualityBuild and own performance dashboards, data insights, and action plansLead monthly business reviews (MBRs), highlighting:Risks, issues, and improvement actionsPerformance gaps and recovery strategiesRisk, Compliance & StandardsDrive compliance with Microsoft standards (DCOS, ISO, audit requirements)Own risk registers and mitigation tracking across programsEnsure all work aligns with:MOP/SOP standardsChange management (RFC/CAB processes)Partner with engineering and operations to close audit gaps and compliance issuesCross-Functional LeadershipCollaborate across:CE Operations Managers (CEOMs)Electrical & Mechanical EngineersVendors and external partnersRegional and global program teamsDrive alignment on priorities, sequencing, and execution strategyAct as a single threaded owner for cross-campus or metro-wide initiativesProject & Portfolio ManagementTranslate operational issues into scalable programs and projectsBuild and manage program roadmaps, dependencies, and resource plansPrioritize work based on:Business impactRisk exposureCustomer availabilityCommunication & Stakeholder ManagementProvide clear, structured updates to senior leadershipDrive accountability across teams through regular cadence (reviews, syncs)Communicate risks, blockers, and decisions with transparencyCulture, Ownership & LeadershipDemonstrate extreme ownership and accountability in program deliveryDrive a culture of:Continuous improvementData-driven decision makingCollaboration across teamsAct as a role model for Microsoft values (growth mindset, inclusion, One Microsoft)Qualifications Required Qualifications:High School Diploma or equivalent AND industry experienceOR years industry experience and college course work.Background Check Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
