Senior Technical Program Manager

Overview

As a Senior Technical Program Manager at Mastercard, you’ll bring your expertise with conceptualizing, coordinating and driving technology projects, and coaching Agile practices in high-performing, self-organizing development teams. We’re building a global B2B, microservices-based platform to help businesses of all sizes streamline how they manage payments when buying or selling products & services. As a global business, the projects you lead for Mastercard will deliver software operating at massive scale requiring a focus on performance, security, and reliability.

This role will support our Network Solutions team within Payment Networks, assisting the development team with building out software solutions for Mastercard.

Role:
• Dive as deep as you want into the tech stack, the integration patterns, the organizational capabilities, and the company wide assets that can be leveraged to provide technical solutions to customer problems.
• Contribute to the strategies, design choices, and even the cloud infrastructure necessary to build comprehensive and achievable execution plans to deliver high-profile new features and capabilities for our customers.
• Drive the execution of an initiative that may span multiple teams and integrations, reporting meaningful status along the way.
• Coach your teams on self-organization and working effectively cross-functionally.
• Remove impediments and escalate obstacles for your teams.
• Coordinate with the product owner on priorities to maximize business value.
• Facilitate team events including grooming, planning, demo and retrospective meetings.

All About You:
• You operate with independence and autonomy.
• You have experience defining and building cloud-native services at scale with a deep understanding of the service’s capabilities and underlying technologies.
• You have experience breaking down problems, organizing work, planning sprints, and delivering technical programs using Agile delivery models (Scrum, Kanban, etc.)
• You have a track record of data driven decision-making and applying continuous improvement methodologies across teams.
• You can debate the delivery strategy with business teams, architects, engineers, and designers.
• You can communicate to executives, peers, and staff with impact, eloquence, and authenticity.
• You have experience building relationships, partnering with and influencing teams while commanding the respect of the individuals you work with across the organization.
• You have in-depth experience in SAFe or Scrum@Scale practices and have worked in large-scale team environments.
• You thrive in an Agile environment focused on continuous improvement.
• You are passionate about the art of delivering the highest quality software to customers and doing the right thing.
• Broad understanding of Software Engineering Concepts/Methodologies
• Huge plus if you have expertise in Payments, IaaS, PaaS, CI/CD, Microservice APIs, DevOps and Agentic AI

Education:
•Bachelor's degree in information systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent work experience

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. O'Fallon, Missouri: $96,000 - $163,000 USD
