Job Description – Senior Automation Engineer (Modernization & Quality Engineering)
Role Overview
We are looking for a hands-on Senior Automation Engineer to support the modernization of a legacy product into a cloud-native architecture using Go, React, PostgreSQL, Docker, Kubernetes, and Microservices. The role focuses on enabling quality through automation across UI, API, performance testing, and AI-assisted development practices.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement scalable automation frameworks for UI, API, integration, and end-to-end testing.
Develop and maintain automated test suites for React applications and Go-based microservices.
Automate API validation, contract testing, and service integration testing.
Build and execute performance and load testing strategies for distributed systems.
Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows.
Support validation of legacy functionality during modernization and migration efforts.
Collaborate with developers, architects, and product teams to establish quality engineering best practices.
Leverage AI-powered engineering tools to accelerate development and testing activities.
Required Skills
Strong experience in Test Automation and Quality Engineering.
Proficiency in one or more programming languages: Go, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
Experience with Playwright (preferred), Cypress, or Selenium.
Strong API testing experience using Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI.
Hands-on experience with Load and Performance Testing tools such as JMeter or similar tools.
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and microservices architectures.
Good knowledge of PostgreSQL and database validation/testing.
Experience with GitHub Actions.
Proficiency with Git/GitHub.
AI & Modern Engineering Tools
Experience using GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, or similar AI-assisted engineering tools.
Ability to use AI tools for code generation, test creation, debugging, documentation, and code reviews.
Nice to Have
Experience with AS/400 / RPG modernization projects.
Cloud experience (GCP).
Contract testing using Pact.
Observability tools such as Prometheus, OpenTelemetry.
Experience with event-driven architectures and platform engineering practices.
Preferred Experience
7+ years in Automation Engineering, Quality Engineering, or SDET roles.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Exposure to large-scale modernization and digital transformation initiatives.
