Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Sr Principal Human Factors Engineer (T04 level). This position is located in Roy, Utah.
What You’ll Get To Do:
The Flight Systems Futures operating unit within Strategic Deterrent Systems is seeking highly motivated talent to join a team at the forefront of next-generation hypersonic capabilities. Our team focuses on the design, development, and demonstration of hypersonic re-entry vehicles and advanced payloads, with an emphasis on rapid development and prototyping aligned to specific customer missions. We operate in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment where innovative concepts are matured quickly into credible, testable solutions that address our nation’s most demanding strategic deterrence needs.
This role specifically will be focused on leading our human factors development and execution.
The following lists the expectations for the role:
* Contribute to the system architecture using Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools
* Generate, allocate, and trace human factors requirements (ergonomics, usability, crew workload, human system interface) across the system hierarchy
* Define verification methodology that validates compliance with human factors standards
* Author requirement sets and develop Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
* Produce customer deliverables such as human factors trade studies, compliance matrices, and validation reports for program reviews
* Participate in lab based demonstrations and hardware in the loop (HIL) testing to verify usability and crew interaction
* Mentor junior engineers on engineering best practices (e.g. MBSE modeling, verification planning)
Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 8 years of related experience, or a master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 6 years of related experience or PhD and 4 years of experience
* Must be a US Citizen with an active U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance, at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years
* Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need
