Save Report this job Paygrade- FAC 07Primary PurposeUnder general supervision, maintain, repair, and install plumbing systems, services, and equipment for the District. Maintain and provide for the safe condition and operation of all plumbing systems and fixtures in District facilities.QualificationsEducation/CertificationHigh School Diploma or GED, requiredValid Texas Journeyman Plumber License, requiredDocumented Trade School plumbing courses, preferredValid Class C Texas driver’s license and proof of insurability with District insurance carrierSpecial Knowledge/SkillsKnowledge and skills to qualify as a Journeyman plumber in accordance with industry standardsAbility to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and plumbing (water and sewer) diagramsStrong organizational, communication (verbal and written), and interpersonal skillsAbility to supervise and train plumbing staffAbility to follow and issue written and verbal instructionsAbility to perform mathematical calculationsAbility to diagnose and resolve problemsAbility to use hand and power toolsBasic computer skillsAbility to utilize technology resources relevant to positionExperienceMinimum five years plumbing industry experience; public education experience, preferredMajor Responsibilities And DutiesMaintenance and Repair Perform preventative maintenance on plumbing systems and components as well as fixtures and all types of lines and water heaters. Determine best approach to solving tasks after carefully evaluating work site to ensure safety for site occupants and/or facility users while project is underway. Outline projects and works with minimal oversight. Review and inspect assigned tasks to adequately order required materials and supplies for the job.
