Lead Veterinary Surgeon - Small Animal

We’re looking for a Lead Vet to shape the next chapter at Easipetcare Chatham. This isn’t a role focused on simply maintaining the status quo. You'll have genuine clinical autonomy to drive standards, mentor a talented team, and build a culture where people genuinely enjoy coming to work.   Located less than a five-minute walk from the mainline train station, the practice offers excellent access to London while sitting alongside historic Rochester and the Chatham Dockyard waterfront. To make relocating even easier, we also offer a private, fully furnished one-bedroom flat on site.   Our clinic is modern, fast-paced and fully equipped to support outstanding clinical practice. You'll enjoy a rewarding caseload spanning orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery, cardiology and diagnostic imaging, with additional support from a visiting cardiologist and an imaging certificate holder based at our nearby Dartford practice.

How You’ll Make a Difference

  As a Lead Veterinary Surgeon, you’ll work collaboratively with the wider practice team to deliver a high standard of patient and client care across a varied and rewarding caseload.   You’ll continue to develop your clinical skills and interests while sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues, contributing positively to the clinical culture of the practice. You’ll be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering excellent care while leading and supporting those around you.  

Key Responsibilities

* Provide clinical leadership, mentoring and support to vets and nurses while fostering a positive team culture * Manage and deliver excellent care across a varied caseload including orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery, cardiology and diagnostic imaging * Champion meaningful Quality Improvement initiatives that enhance patient outcomes * Balance hands-on clinical work with dedicated, protected management time  

Working Pattern

* No out-of-hours commitment * 1 in 3 Saturday mornings only * Genuine flexibility around working hours and rota patterns * Working hours between 8:00am and 7:30pm * Condensed hours, adjusted start and finish times, and flexible working patterns can all be discussed  

You Might Be a Great Fit If...

  You are a confident and motivated Veterinary Surgeon who enjoys working as part of a team and is committed to delivering outstanding patient and client care. You’ll bring:   * A Veterinary degree and registration (or eligibility to register) with the RCVS * Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in routine medical and surgical cases * Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues * A proactive approach to learning, with openness to feedback and development * Professionalism, reliability and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively * A passion for delivering excellent patient and client care
