Security Operations Manager | Full-Time
Overview
Under the direction of the Director of Security, this position is responsible for managing the 24/7/365 activities, conduct, and performance of all Security Operations and Special Event Security Operations at the UF Jacksonville campuses. The Manager Security Operations is responsible for managing annual operating and capital budget in coordination with the Director of Security. This position also manages all Security Operations Staffing, Recruitment, Retention, and Disciplinary Actions. The position is also responsible managing, implementing, conducting, tracking and trending onboarding and ongoing Security Training initiatives for UF Health Jacksonville Security and non-Security Department staff. Will serve as the acting Director of Security in the absence of the Director of Security for UF Health Jacksonville campuses
Responsibilities
- Implement, audit, and manage Security Operations at Shands Jacksonville Campus, twenty-four (24) hours a day, 365 days per year under the direction of the Director of Security (20%)
- Develop, conduct and implement Security Training programs for UF Health Jacksonville Security and non-Security Department staff (20%)
- Develop, implement and maintain Security Operations Policies, Procedures and Practices that meet required Security Compliance, Codes, and Regulations.
- Analyze and inspect all components of Security Operations.
- Program, develop, and implement Operations Security Programs to strengthen operational effectiveness and efficiency (5%)
- Oversee Special Event Security Operation Activities at promotional and marketing events held throughout the Shands Jacksonville Campus. Develop and implement Scheduling & Security Staffing. Develop and implement Security Operations Special Event Policies and Procedures for all events (5%)
- Manage the Security Training and JCAHO Security Compliance requirements of all Uniformed Security Operations (10%) Oversee data reporting incident summaries and deliver actionable recommendations to Division Director Support Services; review incident trends in reported areas throughout the campus and off-site. Identify recurring crime patterns; prepare charts, graphs, and tables displaying findings to be used in strategically planning allocation of operational resources and crime prevention programs (10%)
- Monitor, record, and recover information for investigative purposes (10%)
Qualifications
Required Education:
- Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Education:
- Master's degree in related discipline
Required Licensure/Certifications:
- Valid Florida Driver's License within 90 days of hire
Preferred Licensure/Certifications:
- IAHSS Advanced or "higher" level certification
Required Experience:
- 5 years of mid-management or executive level security or law enforcement experience.
Preferred Experience:
- 5-8 years corporate security management and investigative experience.
- Experience managing 24/7 Uniformed Security Operations and Special Event Security Operations.
- Knowledge of Security Policies and Procedures governing Uniformed Security Operations.
- Knowledge of current security technologies including access control, closed circuit television, digital recording, intrusion detection, infant protection, and fire prevention systems.
- Comprehensive knowledge of emergency response/evacuation planning and procedures
Necessary Skills:
1. Ability to work independently and to analyze written data and numerical data, draw conclusions and make decisions based upon these factors.
2. Strong oral and written communicative skills, including organization and delivery of presentation materials to individuals and groups.
3. Ability to manage multiple projects with varying priorities at one time.
4. Understand project tracking, measuring, and implementation processes.
5. Ability and experience in cross-functional partnerships, leadership, and influencing skills in order to achieve goals and objectives.
6. Expertise with Windows, word processing, spreadsheet, database and surveillance monitoring.
7. Local, county, state and federal law enforcement liaison experience.
