PRIMARY PURPOSE: Facilitate the efficient operation of the school administrative office and provide clerical services for the school’s administrative staff.QualificationsMinimum Education/Certification: High School Diploma or GEDSpecial Knowledge/SkillsKnowledge of general office equipmentKnowledge of basic accounting principlesProficient skills in typing, word processing, and file maintenanceEffective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skillsAbility to operate computer/peripherals using a variety of basic applicationsAbility to effectively use district programs with reasonable assistanceMajor Responsibilities And DutiesThree (3) years clerical/secretarial experience or other equivalent experience or background.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesAssist students, teachers, and parents as needed.Receive incoming calls, take reliable messages, and schedule appointments.Perform accounting tasks following established district guidelines including, but not limited to, those related to budget, textbooks, fixed assets, requisitions, purchase ordersManage student and campus activity accounts as requiredKeep accurate records of staff absences and substitutes usedMonitor, process and submit personnel payroll reports to central office as requiredManage office personnel in daily activities as needed or directedAssist in compiling information to be used in various administrative reportsMaintain the scheduled use of building and make requests for appropriate heating/coolingMaintain confidentialityRemain informed of and comply with state, district, and school policies or regulations concerning primary job functionsWorking ConditionsMental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Must maintain emotional control and exercise reasoning and problem solving skills while under stress. Must demonstrate ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written). Should be able to interpret procedures and analyze data for decision-making. Frequent in-district and occasional in-state or national travel.
