As a Engineering Technician – Level 1 or Level 2 located in Promontory, UT, you’ll be a linchpin in missions of paramount importance, defining the art of the possible from day one.This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work.The candidate will be responsible for preparing, testing and evaluating a wide variety of raw materials to support laboratory testing and quality assurance processes. This role plays a critical part in ensuring material integrity, regulatory compliance, and accurate test results.The quality lab performs analyses and tests of raw materials, packaging materials, and/or finished products from manufacturing, to ensure quality standards and compliance to customer and regulatory requirements, and tolerance specifications for the chemical or physical properties. Performs a variety of qualitative tests or qualitative assays on samples, and maintenance and certification of test instruments and apparatus to ensure compliance. Prepares and monitors quality statistics and reports. Reviews production records for conformance to procedures. Conducts non-conformance tests of manufactured, packaged or tested product.Engineering Technicians are responsible for performing a wide variety of chemical and physical analyses on various inert and energetic materials to assess acceptability against defined requirements.  Testing ranges from traditional mechanical evaluations to advanced analytical chemistry techniques to physical property evaluations.  Successful candidates will work with experienced chemists and technicians who operate analytical test equipment including chromatographic and spectroscopic instrumentation, viscometers, titrators, particle size analyzers, mechanical testing instrumentation, and various other instruments and laboratory equipment.  A fast-paced laboratory environment offers the flexibility to learn new skill sets of interest while developing expertise in specific lab areas.  This position will work a 4/10 schedule, with every Friday off.Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:Collect representative samples in accordance with engineering, regulatory, and laboratory requirements. Verify material identification and ensure traceability during the fabrication and testing process. Maintain the cleanliness and organization of tools, areas, and equipment. Ensure all materials are properly labeled and stored following engineering and planning requirements. Communicate any inconsistencies, deviations, or safety concerns to appropriate personnel. Adhere to safety and hygiene standards, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Support inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain laboratory infrastructure including sample preparation and equipment set-ups and breakdown. Maintain neat and accurate records to company standards. Work with LIMS, Quality, and inventory databases to track material and test results. Candidate will be expected to maintain a high standard of operational discipline to support clean, safe, and efficient operations. Other duties as assignedWhy you?
