Overview
Kimley-Horn, one of Fortune Magazine’s “100 Best Companies to Work For,” is looking for a Corporate Accountant to join the corporate finance and accounting team in our Raleigh, NC headquarters.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Corporate Accountant to support the accounting and financial reporting activities of our international and other legal entities. This role will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial records, compliance with local regulations, account reconciliations, month-end close activities, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders across multiple entities.
The ideal candidate is a collaborative problem solver with strong accounting knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will partner closely with accounting team members, cross-train across various accounting functions, and help ensure continuity of critical processes while supporting the organization's continued growth and operational excellence.
This is an in-office position.
Responsibilities
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities for international and other entit
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Analyze financial results and investigate account variances.
- Maintain accurate general ledger records in accordance with company policies and GAAP.
- Assist with preparation of financial statements and management reporting packages.
- Document accounting procedures and developing training materials for key processes.
- Cross-train with other accounting team members to provide backup coverage, strengthen departmental knowledge, and support operational continuity.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiencies.
- Assist with ERP system enhancements, testing, and implementation initiatives.
- Participate in special projects and finance transformation initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 3+ years of accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and general accounting principles.
- Experience with account reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close processes.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as Costpoint, Oracle, SAP, or NetSuite.
Desired Skills:
- Experience supporting international entities or multinational organizations.
- Knowledge of foreign currency accounting and intercompany transactions.
- Experience with VAT, GST, or other international indirect taxes.
- Deltek Costpoint Accounting Software
- GL close / Reconciliation Software
Specific Experience with:
- Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps)
- RPA and Data Analysis tools (e.g., UiPath, Alteryx)
- SQL or basic scripting (Python, VBA)
