Based in Suffolk, Virginia, this role is essential to supporting the U.S. President, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at the strategic, regional, and operational levels.This position does not provide relocation assistance and requires on-site work with no remote options.Position Overview:The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is a key component of the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, the secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, collectively monitor the battle, and dynamically control networked sensors and weapon systems to achieve global and regional mission goals. C2BMC supports layered missile defense capabilities that enable an optimized response to threats across all ranges and flight phases. It serves as a force multiplier by networking, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations globally and regionally to improve performance. C2BMC is essential for all ground and flight tests that verify and demonstrate the current and future capabilities of missile defense systems.Serves as the C2BMC National Team (NT) lead for interfacing with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (CJCS) J36 staff and other organizations in the NCR for C2BMC activities. Works with the National Military Command Center (NMCC), the MDA Mission Operations Center, other commands in the NCR, and international partners to define roles, missions, ops concepts, and C2BMC system requirements. Supports a variety of sites in integrating C2BMC into their operations centers and in developing crew training requirements. Interfaces with National Team functional areas to define, status, and implement engineering solutions.Essential Functions:Responsible for facilitating and sharing Event Objective Worksheets (EOWs) created by MDA and the NTInterfaces with MDA and C2BMC Command Center (CCC or “Cube”) personnel to gather status updatesIdentifies and helps resolve operational issuesDevelops solutions to complex technical problems that require ingenuity and innovationPrepares operational plans, schedules, costs, internal office communications, and briefing materialsResponsible for representing the C2BMC National Team within the User communityCandidate understands and has worked with Command and Control Systems in the operational arena and at the Air Operations CenterBasic Qualifications:Please list your current security clearance and IAT or relevant certifications on your resume, if applicable.A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field from an accredited university, along with 8 years of experience; or a Master’s degree (preferred) in a related field with 6 years of relevant work experience; or 12 years of relevant work experience may be considered as an alternative to a degreeApplicants must have a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Top Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start with the eligibility to be read on to SCI clearanceWillingness to travel 10% of the time for business needsCandidate must have experience in a joint or service command headquarters staffCandidate understands the operational environmentCandidate knows how Command and Control Systems are used in an Operations CenterCandidate should be able to be part of a C2BMC Warfighter LNO team tasked with...
