Job summary

As a Mortgage Funder in our Mortgage Funding team, you ensure loans are ready to fund, conditions are satisfied, and disbursements are completed accurately and on schedule. You will work closely with underwriting, loan officers, and closing partners to resolve outstanding items and keep loans moving to the finish line. Job responsibilities

  • Review loan files to confirm all required documentation is complete and accurate
  • Verify that underwriting and closing conditions are satisfied prior to funding
  • Communicate with loan officers, underwriters, and closing agents to resolve issues and discrepancies
  • Calculate final disbursement amounts and balance figures to support accurate funding
  • Authorize and release funds to the appropriate parties in accordance with policy and applicable requirements
  • Perform quality control checks to maintain accuracy and integrity throughout the funding process
  • Maintain clear, organized records of funding activity, decisions, and communications
  • Provide timely, professional service to internal teams and external partners to support on-time closings

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of experience in mortgage funding, mortgage processing, or mortgage closing support
  • Working knowledge of mortgage lending processes and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to review documents and data with strong attention to detail
  • Proven organizational skills, including ability to manage multiple files and competing deadlines
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for resolving issues with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment
  • Proficiency with mortgage-related software and Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work overtime as needed to meet funding deadlines

 

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience coordinating funding with closing agents and settlement partners
  • Experience performing funding-related quality control or audit checks in a high-volume environment
