Intermountain Health's iFlex Internal Travel Agency is now hiring for a Registered Nurse – Operating Room (OR) position supporting Cedar City Hospital and other Intermountain facilities through systemwide travel assignments. As part of our internal travel program, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional perioperative care, collaborating with multidisciplinary surgical teams, and ensuring safe, high-quality patient outcomes throughout the surgical experience.
About the iFlex RN Role: Operating Room
As an iFlex RN, you'll serve within Intermountain Health's internal travel agency, filling high-priority staffing needs across Operating Room departments throughout the system. This role requires strong clinical expertise, adaptability, and the ability to function effectively in fast-paced surgical environments.
Cedar City Hospital is a 48-bed community hospital providing comprehensive healthcare services to residents and visitors throughout Southern Utah. The hospital offers a wide range of surgical services, advanced medical technology, and a patient-centered approach to care. iFlex RNs must be willing to float to other departments, facilities, or regions as needed to support patient care and staffing demands.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive preoperative assessments and prepare patients for surgical procedures
- Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care throughout all phases of the perioperative experience
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and interdisciplinary team members
- Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to infection prevention and patient safety standards
- Monitor patients' physiological status and respond appropriately to changing conditions during surgical procedures
- Safely administer medications and document patient care accurately and thoroughly
- Operate and troubleshoot specialized surgical equipment as needed
- Advocate for patients and families while providing education and support throughout the surgical process
- Uphold professional, ethical, regulatory, and organizational nursing standards
Minimum Qualifications:
- 2 years of recent Operating Room RN experience in an acute care hospital setting
- Current RN license in the state of practice
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for Healthcare Providers
- Ability to circulate a variety of surgical procedures
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution
- CNOR certification
- Experience in multiple surgical specialties
- Previous travel nursing or float pool experience
Compensation and Benefits:
- Competitive pay aligned with internal travel nurse market standards
- Consistent pay rate for each assignment, reviewed quarterly and adjusted based on market trends
- For assignments more than 50 miles from home, pro-rated monthly housing reimbursement is available
- Employees are responsible for securing their own housing during travel assignments
Posting Specifics:
Shift Details: Variable shifts, including call requirements as assigned
Schedule: Full-time hours during a 3-month assignment; 2-3 assignments per calendar year required
Pay Rate: $68–$75/hour flat rate, based on location and specialty (adjusted quarterly)
Travel Requirements:
Expected to work Operating Room shifts at assigned Intermountain facilities
Must be willing to float between units and travel to additional Intermountain sites as needed

Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.

Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.

Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.).
