Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. ## What you’ll do: Eaton is seeking a Mechanical Assembler/ Switchboard Technician for its Switchboard Satellite Operation. The Mechanical Assembler - Switchboard Technician is responsible for a wide range of skills including: wire, assemble, fit and mount sub-assemblies, components, and standard fixed assemblies in electrical control equipment. Perform assembly required for test preparation and final inspection. Use established power checking procedures and equipment to verify electrical/mechanical integrity of units assembled. Perform all assignments within acceptable quantity and perfect quality requirements in keeping within assigned functions. * Assemble wiring panels and sub-assemblies that mount in switchboards to customer specification based on electrical drawings, manufacturing schematics, and work instructions with the use of hand and power tools. * Use various tools, such as wire strippers and plyers to perform the electrical wiring assembly of switchboards and sub-assemblies. * Inspect and test finished products to maintain quality standards and ensure conformance with specifications and codes. * Be responsible for understanding power flow and referencing guidelines in order to comply with regulations when wiring switchboards or panelboards. * Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement as well as complete root cause analysis in response to issues with quality or production. * Contribute to a safe, engaged and inclusive work culture by complying with all policies, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment, and performing 5S duties. * Maintain expected progress of jobs in the area of assignment and communicate problem areas or part shortages. * Cross-train and flex across functions based on development and business needs. #IND123 ## Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: * Minimum one year of experience in an assembly related role with the use of hand and/or power tools (experience in automotive repairs, construction, carpentry, or other assembly type environments will be considered) or completion of a one-year Technical School diploma from an accredited institution. * No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within 50 miles of the work location will be considered.
