The Research Project Assistant provides entry-level administrative support for a research project. Will assist with tasks that may include community outreach, data collection, sample collection, laboratory work, and/or field work. Collects and/or organizes data through implementation of research procedures and understanding of research goals. The ALIVE Study is seeking a part-time Research Project Assistant who will assist with tasks that include data collection, sample collection, and laboratory work. Responsibilities include collecting data through the implementation of research procedures and understanding of research goals. This position will be responsible for conducting study visits using an online platform (REDCap). The primary duties will be to administer study questionnaires and perform other assessments, such as blood pressure, height and weight measurements, and functional assessments. This position will also serve as a back-up phlebotomist. Although there is a full-time phlebotomist on staff, this position will cover phlebotomy when the regular phlebotomist is out. Specific Duties & Responsibilities * Assist with collection and organization of data per study requirements, e.g. participant interviews, administer questionnaires; conduct background research, etc. * Assist with setting up tools and procedures for data collection and study processes. * Enter data into the database. * Run routine queries of the data. * Perform basic literature searches. * Other duties as assigned. In addition to the duties described above * Phlebotomy coverage, including blood draws on all study participants, completing lab requisitions and transmittals, processing and packaging blood and urine samples, and responding to lab inquiries. Minimum Qualifications * High school diploma or graduation equivalent. * Six months of work experience. * Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula. Preferred Qualifications * Two years of experience in phlebotomy * Phlebotomy training and demonstrated proficiency and completion of a Phlebotomy training program or certificate * Knowledge of HIV infection, Hepatitis C and illicit drug use * Familiarity with medical terminology * Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills * Experience in human subjects’ research and survey administration preferred Technical Skills & Expected Level of Proficiency * Analytical Skills - Awareness * Data Entry - Awareness * Electronic Office Tools - Awareness * Information Gathering - Awareness * Interpersonal Skills - Awareness * Oral and Written Communications - Awareness * Organizational Skills - Awareness * Research and Analytical Skills - Awareness *The core technical skills listed are most essential; additional technical skills may be required based on specific division or department needs. * * * Job Posting Title (Working Title): Research Project Assistant / Phlebotomist (Epidemiology) Role/Level/Range: ACRO40/E/02/CB Starting Salary Range: $32,032 - $48,360 Annually (Commensurate w/exp.)
