This is a great opportunity to move into the inspection and port operations industry, with full training, long-term development, and clear career progression.What you’ll be doing:As an Inspector, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of agricultural cargo movements across the supply chain. This is a varied, field-based role where no two days are the same. You will mainly be working outdoors across ports, terminals, and vessels.You will be:Travelling to ports, warehouses, and onboard vessels to carry out inspectionsAttending ships to inspect agricultural cargos and take representative samplesConducting quality and condition inspections of commodities such as grains, cereals, and other agricultural productsDrawing and handling cargo samples in line with industry standardsRecording inspection data and preparing accurate reports using SGS systemsQualificationsWhat we’re looking for:We’re keen to hear from candidates with a range of backgrounds, including:Farming or agriculture experienceCrop science, agriculture, or related degreeExperience working in outdoor, hands-on environmentsOR individuals looking to start a career in inspection, surveying, or port operationsYou will also need:A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to learnGood attention to detailPhysical resilience and adaptabilityFlexibility to work as part of a 24/7 operationStrong communication skillsA full UK driving licenceAdditional InformationAt SGS, we believe in rewarding our employees for their hard work and commitment.
