Key Responsibilities:
Cash Application: NIGHT SHIFT (EST)
Accurately apply payments received via various methods (ACH, wire transfers, checks, etc.) to customer accounts.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies, unidentified payments, and unallocated cash.
Reconciliation:
Perform daily reconciliation of bank statements with accounting systems.
Ensure the accuracy of customer balances by reconciling unapplied payments.
Issue Resolution:
Liaise with internal teams (Collections, Accounts Receivable, and Customer Service) to resolve payment issues.
Coordinate with customers for remittance details to clarify discrepancies.
Reporting:
Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly reports on cash application activities.
Analyze trends in unapplied cash and provide actionable insights to minimize occurrences.
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities to streamline cash application processes.
Collaborate with automation teams to implement tools or technology for efficiency improvements.
Compliance and Controls:
Ensure adherence to internal controls and audit requirements related to cash application.
Maintain documentation for audit trails and comply with company policies.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
Experience: 1-3 years in Accounts Receivable, Cash Application, or similar roles.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) and advanced MS Excel skills.
Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving ability with attention to detail.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for customer and internal interactions.
Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of banking systems and reconciliation processes.
Familiarity with automation tools like RPA (Robotic Process Automation).
Experience in managing multi-currency transactions.
