Job Title: QA & Testing Analyst [ETL Tester]
Location: Bangalore
Role Summary:
Reporting to the QA Manager, the QA & Testing Analyst is responsible for the planning, execution, and reporting of Quality Assurance testing activities for new and enhanced data and analytics solutions. The role focuses on validating data accuracy, completeness, and reliability across ETL pipelines and databases. Working closely with Scrum teams, senior QA colleagues, data engineers, and business stakeholders, the analyst supports quality-first delivery within a SAFe Agile environment while developing strong data testing and automation skills.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver assigned QA activities in line with agreed plans and quality targets
• Build product and data understanding to support effective test design
• Execute test cases and log, track, and retest defects using agreed tools
• Prioritise test cases and support creation of execution plans
• Participate in defect triage sessions and root cause analysis
• Participate in PI planning, sprint planning, and Agile ceremonies
• Track and report testing progress and outcomes
• Contribute to sprint retrospectives and continuous improvement initiatives
• Apply appropriate test techniques, methodologies, and tools to achieve effective test coverage
• Support mentoring and knowledge sharing with peers and junior team members
• Adhere to Quality Engineering best practices and support efficiency improvements
Required Skills and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent experience
• 2–5 years’ experience in Software QA with focus on ETL and data testing
• Experience validating ETL extraction, transformation, and load processes
• Experience contributing to test automation within ETL and data pipelines
• Strong SQL knowledge, including stored procedures and backend testing
• Experience testing across multiple database types
• Hands-on experience with ETL testing tools
• Exposure to test automation using code, preferably Python
• Experience working across the full test lifecycle
• Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server tools
• Knowledge of the healthcare insurance industry
• Understanding of SDLC and Agile delivery models
• Awareness of automated testing and modelling tools
• Knowledge of change management and test design techniques
• Familiarity with data governance, lineage, and control concepts
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Commitment to continuous learning and personal development
Desirable Skills and Experience:
• ISTQB Foundation or Intermediate certification
• Database, Mainframe, and API testing experience
• Python-based test automation exposure
• ETL tools such as SSIS
• Cloud Platforms: Hands-on testing experience in (AWS / Microsoft Azure)
• Relational database expertise using SQL (or PostgreSQL, DBeaver)
