Overview
Responsible for preventative and corrective maintenance required to maintain the physical structure and equipment in the most reliable and economical operating condition. Responds quickly to any internal disaster and takes charge at the scene until relieved by competent authority. Responsible for collecting, entering data and documenting all required regulatory inspections as assigned.Qualifications
Required Education:
- High School Diploma or GED.
Necessary Skills:
- Ability to work effectively with staff at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to learn, navigate, and utilize the Facilities Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to inspect equipment and systems and identify conditions requiring repair or corrective action.
- Working knowledge of common hand tools and testing equipment used in maintenance operations.
- Knowledge of and commitment to following established safety procedures and regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Basic working knowledge of plumbing systems, including compressed gas, potable water, drain-waste-vent, steam and condensate systems, as well as electrical generation, distribution, and utilization systems and equipment. Knowledge of central and package heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems is also required.
- Ability to perform mechanical and plumbing repairs.
- Willingness to respond to emergency calls during off-duty hours.
Required Experience:
- 1 - 2 years building mechanical maintenance experience or equivalent.
- Preferred Experience: 5+ years in hospital mechanical maintenance work
