Role Purpose 

Wood Mackenzie moved under Private Equity ownership in 2023 and is now executing on its Value Creation Plan to deliver high growth. As part of that next phase, and to support the GTM transformation, we have an exciting opportunity for a strategic, data-driven and commercially minded Growth Marketing Director to lead and scale our growth marketing efforts across APAC. 

This is a regional leadership role rather than a segment or vertical-specific one. You will own the growth marketing strategy for APAC as a whole, working across all segments and verticals active in the region, and adapting global growth marketing strategy (bowtie) to the specific market dynamics, buyer behaviours and commercial priorities of APAC.  

You will be responsible for executing campaigns that drive pipeline creation and progression to won revenue, spanning new customer acquisition and customer growth (expansion, renewal and advocacy).You will collaborate closely with regional sales and commercial leadership, global growth vertical marketing teams, and the wider global Marketing function to build and deploy marketing campaigns. 

You will work closely with senior leadership across the business and need to be comfortable influencing individuals and teams across all divisions, seniorities and time zones. You will be a key part of the Growth Marketing Leadership Team, building a high-performance culture as a change agent who can lead teams through ambiguity and drive creative

innovation, efficiency and effectiveness through the adoption of AI. 

Main Responsibilities 

  • Regional growth strategy and ownership: own the growth marketing strategy for APAC, driving integrated marketing planning that aligns regional plans to commercial growth priorities and revenue goals across all segments and verticals active in the region. 

  • Campaign leadership: lead APAC growth marketing to develop and execute integrated, full-funnel campaigns across digital, events, ABM, content syndication, paid media, email, and webinars, driving new customer acquisition ARR, customer expansion ARR, customer migrations and improved account advocacy that supports retention (NRR). 

  • Commercial performance and optimization: foster a culture of continuous improvement and optimisation of regional growth marketing plans, delivering against the KPIs that drive ARR, NRR and GRR commercial goals. 

  • Cross-functional alignment: ensure tight alignment across Events, Product Marketing, Growth Marketing, Digital Demand Centre, Lead Management and Corporate Marketing to orchestrate execution and optimisation of regional growth marketing plans and goals. Identify and implement best practice, improve ways of working, and build cross-regional campaign strategies where audiences and priorities overlap. 

  • Regional market nuance: build and apply an understanding of APAC market dynamics, buyer behaviour and commercial priorities, ensuring global growth strategies are adapted appropriately for the region rather than applied uniformly. 

  • Budget and vendor management: manage marketing budgets and agency or vendor relationships across APAC to ensure ROI-positive performance. 

  • Reporting and insight: track KPIs and provide regular reporting and actionable insight to senior stakeholders across the business, to continuously improve performance based on learnings. 

  • Tools and technology adoption: lead the team to fully leverage marketing automation, analytics and CRM tools (for example Salesforce, Dreamdata, Supermetrics) to manage campaign journeys, nurture processes and performance optimisation.

About You 

To be successful in this role you will have extensive B2B marketing experience, including in a global or regional growth, demand generation, customer marketing or performance marketing leadership role, ideally with direct experience operating in or leading Marketing for the APAC region. 

You will have: 

  • A strong strategic growth mindset, with the ability to translate business priorities into practical plans, operating models and execution frameworks.  

  • Proven success driving measurable pipeline and revenue growth in a B2B go-to-market model spanning multiple segments or verticals. 

  • A strong understanding of the full marketing funnel, buyer journeys and lead lifecycle management, with the ability to adapt strategy to regional market nuances. 

  • Experience managing integrated campaigns across multiple channels (digital and events) within APAC or another multi-market region. 

  • Deep familiarity with marketing analytics and automation platforms (for example Salesforce, Pardot, Dreamdata, Supermetrics). 

  • Experience adopting AI and leveraging intent data to enable pipeline creation and progression through identification of buying groups and signals (for example Bombora, 6sense). 

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a test-and-learn mindset. 

  • Excellent communication, data storytelling and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders across time zones and cultures. 

  • Experience working in a global, matrixed organisation, managing stakeholders and leading through ambiguity and change. 

Preferred Experience and Qualifications 

  • Knowledge of the energy, natural resources or related B2B data and analytics markets. 

  • Account-based marketing experience and tools expertise (for example Bombora, 6sense, Salesforce). 

  • Experience scaling marketing in a high-growth or SaaS company. 

What Success Looks Like 

  • A high-performance regional culture, focused on driving the insight and action needed to exceed marketing goals (OKRs). 

  • Exceeding year-on-year performance benchmarks across APAC. 

  • Driving improvements in ARR, NRR and GRR for the region as part of the wider GTM team. 

  • Increased marketing-sourced pipeline and closed-won revenue for new customer acquisition across APAC (based on ARR goals). 

  • Increased marketing-engaged pipeline, improving velocity and won-revenue conversion rates. 

  • Increased marketing-influenced pipeline and won-revenue conversion rates for customer expansion across the region. 

  • Improved product usage and retention rates for target accounts in APAC. 

  • Shorter sales cycles and improved lead-to-opportunity conversion rates across all customer growth types. 

  • Strong alignment between APAC GTM teams through integrated planning (Marketing, Sales, Customer and Segment commercial teams). 

Working Expectations 

  • We are a hybrid working company and the successful applicant will be expected to be physically present in the office at least 2 days per week to foster and contribute to a collaborative environment, but this may be subject to change in the future. 

  • While this is expected to be a full-time role, flexible working arrangements will be considered. 

  • Due to the global nature of the team, a degree of flexible working will be required to accommodate different time zones.
