Position Summary
Reporting to the Business Relationship Manager, CCT, and supporting the Irvine facility while working remotely from Texas, the Connect and Control Technologies segment is looking for a Senior Engineering Applications Engineer to support ITT’s engineering application footprint across CCT. This is a senior individual contributor role with no people-management responsibilities.
The Senior Engineering Applications Engineer will serve as a technical owner and trusted partner to the Engineering community, working closely with Engineering leadership, site teams, and IT stakeholders to identify productivity improvement opportunities, support strategic initiatives, and deliver reliable application solutions that meet Engineering requirements.
This role is responsible for supporting the business in day-to-day operations, as well as envisioning, recommending, and facilitating improvements that automate, streamline, secure, and sustain a highly available engineering application service offering. The role requires hands-on technical depth, strong business partnership, excellent documentation, and the ability to support a regulated engineering environment with global reach.

Essential Responsibilities
- Serve as the senior technical lead and subject matter expert for CCT engineering applications, including Windchill and PTC Vault, Creo, Autodesk and Autodesk Vault, Mathcad, Minitab, SmarTeam, and SolidWorks.
- Administer, support, enhance, and troubleshoot engineering applications used by CCT Engineering teams, ensuring solutions are reliable, secure, scalable, and aligned with business priorities.
- Support PLM/PDM capabilities, workflows, lifecycle templates, access controls, configuration changes, user support, and related engineering data-management processes.
- Partner with Engineering leadership, business analysts, product owners, subject matter experts, and IT teams to gather requirements, translate business challenges into technical solutions, and communicate technical recommendations clearly.
- Conduct detailed assessments of current engineering application systems and processes to identify opportunities for improvement, optimization, automation, and standardization.
- Support integrations between engineering applications and enterprise systems such as ERP, CAD tools, MES, reporting platforms, licensing services, and other business systems as required.
- Support software upgrades, migrations, testing, validation, deployment, and post-go-live stabilization for engineering applications.
- Monitor application performance, availability, licensing usage, user access, and support trends; identify issues and coordinate corrective actions with infrastructure, cybersecurity, database, desktop, network, and vendor teams.
- Define and maintain appropriate security models and access controls, and support compliance with regulatory, ITAR/export-control, cybersecurity, and IT best-practice requirements.
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, support procedures, configuration notes, training materials, and knowledge-base content for both technical and business audiences.
- Serve as an escalation point and technical mentor for application administrators, developers, analysts, support teams, and Engineering users.
- Coordinate software contracts, maintenance renewals, license updates, vendor support activities, and installation support for Engineering and technical software.
- Communicate status, risks, decisions needed, and recommended next steps in a concise, business-oriented manner to IT and Engineering stakeholders.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.
- US Citizenship is mandatory.
- 8+ years of hands-on experience supporting engineering applications, PLM/PDM platforms, CAD/CAE tools, engineering integrations, or related enterprise systems.
- Strong working knowledge of Windchill and PTC Vault, Creo, Autodesk and Autodesk Vault, Mathcad, Minitab, SmarTeam, and SolidWorks.
- Experience supporting PLM/PDM processes, CAD integrations, engineering workflows, access controls, lifecycle management, and engineering data-management practices.
- Experience integrating engineering applications with enterprise systems such as ERP, CAD, MES, reporting platforms, middleware, APIs, or web services.
- Proven track record supporting application upgrades, migrations, implementations, testing, documentation, and production support activities.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting, communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively as a senior individual contributor in a remote role supporting the Irvine facility and collaborating with global CCT teams.
- Experience in regulated industries such as aerospace and defense, automotive, medical devices, energy, or other controlled manufacturing environments is a plus.
- Experience working in an ITAR controlled business environment is required or strongly preferred based on business scope.
- Relevant certifications in PLM/PDM, CAD administration, engineering applications, ITIL, Agile/Scrum, or related technical disciplines are highly desirable.
