The role

The Vice President, Segment Strategy & Go-to-Market (GTM) is responsible for defining and executing the global segment strategy and commercial go-to-market approach for SoFi Technology Solutions (STS). This executive partners across Product, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Finance, and Operations to identify market opportunities, develop customer-centric strategies, and accelerate business growth.

Reporting to the President of STS, this leader translates market insights into enterprise strategy, ensuring alignment between product investments, commercial priorities, and customer needs. The role also leads strategic planning initiatives that strengthen market positioning, expand customer adoption, and support long-term business growth across the STS portfolio.  This leader will be accountable for identifying and developing critical channel relationships, market relevant forums for establishing STS as a credible player in the banking and payments space, and importantly informing our value proposition for each segment.   

This executive leads a high-performing strategy and go to market organization while influencing executive decision-making across the business.

What you'll do

  • Define and execute the global Segment Strategy and Go-to-Market strategy for STS.
  • Develop customer segmentation, target market strategies, value propositions, and commercial positioning across multiple products and customer segments.
  • Lead cross-functional GTM planning to ensure alignment between Product, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and regional teams.
  • Identify market opportunities, competitive trends, and emerging customer needs to inform strategic investment decisions.
  • Partner with executive leadership to develop annual operating plans, growth initiatives, and long-term business strategy.
  • Establish strategic frameworks that improve commercialization, customer acquisition, and market expansion.
  • Develop market intelligence capabilities that translate industry insights into actionable business recommendations.
  • Lead strategic programs supporting new business opportunities, product launches, and commercial initiatives.
  • Serve as the executive lead for strategic initiatives related to emerging market opportunities, including digital assets and crypto-related business strategy, where applicable.
  • Partner closely with Product leadership to ensure commercial strategy aligns with product roadmap and customer demand.
  • Develop executive presentations, investment recommendations, and strategic analyses for senior leadership.
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing strategy and GTM organization while fostering an inclusive and collaborative culture.
  • Represent STS in executive-level planning sessions and cross-functional strategic initiatives.

What you'll need

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15+ years of experience in strategy, go-to-market, product marketing, commercial strategy, management consulting, business development, or a related field within financial services or enterprise technology.
  • Significant experience leading cross-functional strategic initiatives in a complex, matrixed organization.
  • Deep expertise in market segmentation, commercial strategy, go-to-market planning, and growth strategy.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop executive-level business strategies that drive measurable commercial outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of fintech, banking technology, enterprise software, or financial services markets.
  • Experience partnering with executive leaders across Product, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Customer Success, and Operations.
  • Strong analytical and strategic problem-solving skills with experience translating market intelligence into business decisions.
  • Excellent executive communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders across multiple functions.
  • Experience building and developing high-performing teams while leading through influence across global organizations.

Nice to have

  • MBA or other advanced business degree.
  • Experience in B2B fintech, banking technology, payments, or enterprise SaaS.
  • Experience supporting international market expansion and global commercialization strategies.
  • Familiarity with digital assets, blockchain technologies, or emerging payment ecosystems.
  • Experience working with Tier 1 financial institutions or enterprise technology clients.
Compensation and Benefits The base pay range for this role is listed below. Final base pay offer will be determined based on individual factors such as the candidate’s experience, skills, and location.    This role may also be eligible for a bonus and/or long term incentives.
