Job Description: Supplier Onboarding Lead / Senior Manager
# The Supplier Onboarding Lead (Senior Manager) will lead a global team of supplier onboarding specialists, overseeing the end-to-end process of bringing new suppliers into the Citi’s ecosystem. This role is pivotal in ensuring a seamless, efficient, and controlled onboarding experience.
The successful candidate will accomplish results through the management of a professional global team (Across regions NAM/EMEA/ASIA), integrating subject matter and industry expertise in supplier lifecycle management. You will be responsible for driving strategic enhancements to our supplier onboarding systems and processes, collaborating closely with Product and Technology partners. As a key leader, you will be the single point of contact for the function, responsible for mitigating operational risks and ensuring zero Preventable Loss Events (PLEs) or Operational Risk Events (OREs).
This position requires a leader who can guide, influence, and convince others, particularly colleagues in other functions and senior stakeholders. You will have full management responsibility for a global team, including performance evaluation, coaching, hiring, and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
# Responsibilities:
* Team Leadership & Management:
* Lead, mentor, and manage a global team of Supplier Onboarding checkers, ensuring high-quality, timely, and accurate delivery of all onboarding activities.
* Foster a culture of innovation, encouraging the team to "think outside the box" to identify and implement process efficiencies.
* Manage resource planning, performance evaluations, compensation, hiring, and disciplinary actions for the team.
* Motivate and develop team members, identifying high-performers and creating opportunities for career growth.
* Process & System Enhancement:
* Act as the primary business stakeholder for supplier onboarding systems, partnering with Product and Technology teams to drive the strategy, design, and implementation of enhancements.
* Develop and manage a project pipeline for system improvements, ensuring they align with business objectives and enhance user experience.
* Analyze complex issues, propose innovative solutions, and oversee the testing and rollout of new procedures and system functionalities.
* Risk & Control Management:
* Serve as the single point of contact (SPOC) to ensure a robust control environment, with a focus on preventing PLEs/OREs.
* Establish and maintain a strong culture of risk and controls, implementing effective checkpoints and monitoring to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and internal policies.
* Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding its clients and assets.
* Ensure clean audit results by maintaining meticulous documentation and control evidence.
* Operational Excellence & Stakeholder Management:
* Oversee the day-to-day supplier onboarding function, including documentation review, due diligence, and system setups.
* Define and monitor performance metrics to track productivity, quality, and defect rates, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including Procurement, Legal, Compliance, and Technology, to ensure alignment and resolve issues effectively.
* Ensure the team delivers against all Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and provides a superior service experience to both internal partners and external suppliers.

* Experience:
* 12-15 years of experience in a relevant function such as Supplier/Vendor Onboarding or Supply Chain Management.
* Proven experience managing a team, preferably in a global context.
* Demonstrated experience in project management, particularly in driving system enhancements and process re-engineering initiatives.
