Chenega Agile Real-Time Solutions (CARS) was created with the purpose of providing integrated enterprise IT support to Federal customers both CONUS and OCONUS. CARS employs Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) with decades of experience working in the Federal marketplace. The Jr. Geospatial Engineer supports mission-critical Intelligence Community and Departmentof Defense projects by designing, analyzing, and supporting geospatial data, systems, andworkflows. This role leverages GIS expertise and Esri technologies to deliver high-qualitygeospatial products, analysis, and user support in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Collect, analyze, validate, and manage geospatial data using GIS, remote sensing, and GPS toolsDesign, build, maintain, and test geospatial databases and enterprise geodatabasesPerform spatial analysis and GIS processing using ArcGIS and related Esri productsDevelop and maintain automated workflows and scripts using Python and SQLProduce maps, web maps, and visualizations to support analysis and decision makingIntegrate geospatial data with other datasets to generate actionable insightsProvide technical support and troubleshooting for GIS users and systemsSupport data automation, migration, and database development effortsCoordinate tasks with project and technical managersDocument processes, results, and customer interactionsOther duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in geography, GIS, geospatial engineering, computer science, or related field (master’s preferred)1+ years of professional experience using GIS technologiesExperience with spatial analysis, GIS workflows, and database developmentActive or Current (within two years of active) Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility Preferred Qualifications:Experience in technical support or customer-facing GIS rolesExperience with data conversion or migrationKnowledge of Linux and UNIX environmentsFamiliarity with web mapping and remote sensing toolsProficiency in Python scripting and SQLGIS certifications Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Ability to work independently and yet be effective within a team settingMust be capable of managing multiple efforts with time-related constraints in a fast-paced contracting environmentDemonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups and individualsFriendly presence, helpful attitude, good interpersonal skills, and ability to work well with others.Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office applicationsProficient with Microsoft Office Applications, and experience working in a home office setting, as well as the ability to train end users on frequently asked technical issues.Ability to provide technical assistance and support over the phone; good phone skills, professional demeanor, and previous customer service experience strongly desired.Good problem-solving skills; ability to visualize a problem/situation and think abstractly to solve itKnowledge of Windows environmentsProficiency with Esri products (ArcGIS Desktop, Enterprise, and Online)Working knowledge of relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server,...
