Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a

Project Management Office (PMO) Manager (d/f/m) 

In order to strengthen the Programme Instantiation and Roll out team within End-to-End Process, Methods, Tools and Data (E2E PMTD) within Air Power, the Programme Management Office is looking for a Project Manager to lead the scope prioritization, budget and resource management of a strategic Air Power portfolio.

Your tasks and responsibilities 

The PMO for scope prioritization, budget and resource management oversees and drives the operational planning (OP), maintaining a consistent and transparent baseline/forecast for the AP Extended PMTD Team. The PMO is responsible for budget steering and alignment between resource demand and availability across customer programs.

  • Owns and orchestrates the Operational Planning (OP) process in line with funding entities, ensuring alignment across AP Extended PMTD Team and incorporating OP targets provided by AP Finance, incl. budget tracking and quarterly forecast cycles (FC I/II/III).

  • Ensures budget governance and monthly financial controlling in accordance with ADS finance/controlling rules, providing transparency on budget consumption and financial status.

  • Acts as the integration layer to ensure coherence across budget (OP), resources, and available planning, identifying and highlighting gaps, insufficient data quality, and enabling scope prioritization where funding or capacity constraints jeopardize commitments.

  • Aligns OP with relevant funding entities and stakeholders to secure transparency on commitments, constraints, and required trade-offs including alignment with other divisions (ACA, Commercial) through Intergroup Agreement to ensure coherence in scope, cost responsibilities, and cross-division commitments.

  • Coordinates resource demand and capacity alignment with contributing functions and tools (e.g., MyWL+).

Desired skills and qualifications 

  • Degree-level education in Engineering

  • Previous experience in leading projects or as a PMO Manager

  • Airbus PM Certification is desired

  • Experience in managing/working with the IBP process including Operational planning (OP), Estimated at Completion (EAC) and financial cycles.

  • Familiarized with Finance processes and concepts.

  • Experience in managing risks and opportunities, either as a risk manager or a project member.

  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills.

  • Ability to work across functions, and to influence and persuade program stakeholders amid conflicting priorities.

  • Experience in standard resource management tools (e.g.,MyWL+) is desired.

  • Experience in standard reporting tools (e.g., Qlik, Looker Studio) is desired.

  • Experience in using the Airbus ARM tool for risk and opportunity management.

  • Experience working in international teams and environments.

  • Fluency in English is mandatory.

  • Enjoys a challenge and solving problems.
