Job Summary
Under direct supervision, assigned daily work. May explain instructions and documentation to plan work activities. Help coordinate movement of materials and equipment to work locations and sets up work site. Completes and reviews records, maintains tools and equipment, and performs various clean-up activities. Job may require moderate to heavy lifting. Observes and follows all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of experience.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain pipes, valves, fittings, drainage systems, and fixtures in commercial and residential structures.
- Collaborate with general contractors, electricians, and other construction professionals.
- Follow building plans and blueprints.
- Respond to, diagnose, and resolve plumbing emergencies.
- Perform routine inspections of plumbing and drainage systems.
- Clear all types and sizes of drains with cable machine and jetting machine/high pressure pump truck.
- Perform other duties and special projects assigned.
- Install and maintain backflow preventers.
- Reports to and receives assignments, instructions, and direction from the Foreman or General Foreman.
- Completes records, maintains tools and equipment, and performs various clean-up and housekeeping activities.
- Observes and follows all safety rules and procedures, including wearing the required personal safety equipment.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of completed repairs, parts usage, and hours worked
- Work will also involve lifting and moving heavy units.
- Work Conditions: Often involves working outside in extreme temperatures, navigating emergency after-hours service calls, and responding to on-call schedules
Basic Qualifications and Skills
- Skilled in the use of hand and power tools used in the plumbing trade.
- Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and safety practices.
- Ability to read and follow blueprints and rough drawings.
- Familiarity with PVC, CPVC, PEX, ductile iron, and copper.
- Effective oral communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to complete unsupervised and unassisted projects.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in basic mathematics and conversion of measurements.
- Familiarity with all types of backflow preventers.
- Typically requires 2-5+ years of related experience as a plumber
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Physical & Technical Skills: Mechanical aptitude, the ability to read complex schematics, and physical stamina to lift heavy equipment and work in confined or elevated spaces.
- Must be fluent in English
- Must possess passport book (not passport card) with at least 12 months of remaining validity AND with at least 4 blank visa/stamp pages remaining
- Must possess driver’s license with at least 6 months of remaining validity
