With more than 97,000 employees, SGS operates a network of over 2,600 offices and laboratories around the world.Job DescriptionPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESTo outline the responsibilities and authorities the Technician has in relation to post requirements of managerial, technical, and key support personnel. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES Must be able to record, evaluate, and validate instrumentation for specific job (LECO, ICP, XRF, AAS & Wet Chem) dataCompletes tasks within the allocated time and plans work for operators to ensure that overall service goals of the laboratory are met. Responsibility to perform routine and non-routine analytical operations on specific instrumentation (LECO, ICP, XRF, AAS & Wet Chem) if and as required. Responsibility to ensure turnaround time is adhered to at all times, for work specified about instrumentation analysis. Responsibility to perform all analyses. Responsibility, under the guidance of instrumentation seniors, to assist in the work required to validate any new methods or modifications made for analysis.Responsibility to bring all problems (technical and managerial) to the attention of the seniors Responsibility to adhere to quality protocols required for accreditation of instrumentation and chemical analysis. Responsibility to adhere to all quality, health, and safety rules and regulations. Responsibility to ensure that the housekeeping for the general working area is kept up to standard. Complies and conforms to Laboratory Quality Management System (ISO17025) Responsibility to record any day-to-day repairs, maintenance, calibration, and verification of instruments performed. Responsibility to ensure correct consumables and chemicals are used for instrumentation chemical analysis. Responsibility to work in other areas of the instrumentation laboratory, Analytical Services, and/or Divisions if asked to do so. Adhere to all quality and safety requirements of the SGS management system. Perform any other reasonable tasks as assigned by the direct line manager.  QualificationsPROFILEEducation Matriculation, with Mathematics and ScienceExperienceOperational experience in a SANAS 17025 accredited facilityLIMS administration and operationExperience in instrumentation, data collection, and reportingAt least 3 years’ experience REQUIRED SKILLSIntegrityAttention to detailPunctualityGood interpersonal skillsMust be flexible and willing to work shifts and overtime when necessaryFull knowledge and experience of Sample preparation and Fire Assay proceduresBasic knowledge of entering data on the SLIMSSpeak, write and understand English Additional InformationCOMPLIANCE & AUTHORITY  Cease the use of any equipment that may be deemed to constitute a safety hazard or entry to hazardous environments without the necessary knowledge and protection, and take action to address the hazard.Cease to carry on with work that may affect the quality (integrity) of services and take action to address the issue.Initiate a formal improvement request when a deviation of the system occurs, possible improvements are identified, or when nonconformity is identified. By clicking the link above or any third-party link within this posting, you are leaving this site and going to a third-party website where the third-party website's terms and privacy policy applyI'm interestedI'm interestedPrivacy NoticeI'm interestedRefer a friendshare this jobShare to WeChat×Copy the link and open WeChat to share.Copy to clipboardOpen WeChatShare to WeChat×Use Scan QR Code in WeChat and click ··· to share.
