Job Description

Responsible for planning, execution, and delivery across a portfolio of concurrent AI projects, typically dozens running at once, and for building the organization's AI capability through skills and training. Single point of accountability for project execution, with oversight from key stakeholders, and the authority required to deliver both individual projects and the broader AI enablement agenda.
 

Requirements

• 8+ years applicable IT experience
• 2+ years people management
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or another technical discipline, or 8+ years of demonstrable project/program management experience

Core Responsibilities

• Sets priorities, performance goals, and objectives for the team across the AI project portfolio.
• Builds and delivers AI skills and training programs for the team and broader organization, including stretch assignments, and gives honest feedback to support talent development.
• Manages and evaluates individual and team performance, taking action to meet or exceed standards.
• Identifies process improvements that reduce workload or improve quality.
• Balances workloads across the team given the volume of concurrent projects.
• Builds the AI capabilities (skills, training, tooling, governance) the business needs.
• Serves as single point of accountability for lower-to-moderate risk AI projects; supports larger initiatives under guidance from senior program leadership.
• Mentors project managers and staff delivering training programs.
• Communicates status, scope, budget, risk, and resource impacts to stakeholders and leadership.
• Runs SDLC and/or Agile methodologies consistently across AI project delivery.
• Tracks budget across the project portfolio.

Skills & Training

• Supports the creation of AI training curricula for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Delivers or coordinates training sessions and workshops tied to active projects.
• Reports on training progress and adoption to stakeholders.

SDLC

• Sets clear, attainable deliverables based on project requirements (data readiness, pilot criteria, model performance thresholds).
• Manages cost, time, scope, and quality across concurrent projects.
• Builds detailed project plans and task assignments for cross-functional teams, covering resourcing, quality review, status reporting, and issue escalation.
• Resolves project issues and delays using project management and business expertise.
• Tracks milestones and adjusts plans and resources as needed.

Agile

• Familiar with Scrum and Kanban.
• Leads scrum teams on sprint deliverables for AI feature and model work.
• Leads Kanban teams on prioritizing work, including training content and the AI project intake queue.

DOT Requirements

If applicable, meet all DOT qualification requirements and comply with all applicable federal, state, and local transportation regulations.

Compensation Range

$121,800.00 - $182,800.00

Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data/ranges, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications (e.g. JD/technology), for example.
