The opportunity
Hitachi Energy Transformer Business Unit in Greater China operates across 55 cities, employs over 1,900 staff, and manages 5 transformer manufacturing plants. More than 90% of its sales come from locally manufactured products. We offer a comprehensive portfolio of Transformers Products, Solutions and Services. Transformers are essential in all electricity-related fields and applications, including power generation, transmission and distribution, oil, chemical and gas, industrial manufacturing, semiconductor and data centers, as well as building and transportation sectors.

How you’ll make an impact
1. You will develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive HSE management systems, policies, and procedures in line with national and international standards (e.g., ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
2. You will conduct regular HSE inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
3. You will investigate all incidents, accidents, near misses, and occupational illnesses, determining root causes and implementing preventative measures.
4. You will provide HSE training and awareness programs for employees at all levels, including new hire orientation and specialized safety training.
5. You will ensure compliance with all applicable local, national, and company HSE regulations and standards.
6. You will collaborate with various departments to integrate HSE considerations into operational planning and decision-making.
7. You will maintain accurate records of HSE data, incidents, training, and audits.
8. You will lead emergency response planning and drills, ensuring the effectiveness of emergency procedures.
9. You will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background
1. Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an HSE role, preferably within a manufacturing or heavy industry environment.
3. Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, standards, and best practices (e.g., OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
4. Proven experience in conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and HSE audits.
5. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and influence others.
6. Proficiency in English and Mandarin Chinese (written and spoken) is required.
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
