US Battlefield Information Collection and Exploitation Systems eXtended (US BICES-X) is a cutting-edge program supporting DoD intelligence information sharing on current and emerging global threats to mission and coalition partners and emerging nations. With an internationally dispersed team supporting each combatant command, the US BICES-X team is in direct support of the war fighter and their missions. We are seeking a creative and driven professional with a passion for solving real world issues on a cross-functional, fast paced team.
Candidate will join a dedicated team of Systems professionals that operate and maintain US BICES Systems environment. The team is responsible for a wide variety of technologies and manufacturer hardware.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver desktop support and troubleshoot issues for Windows-based desktops and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments.
- Maintain and optimize computer system workflows to ensure continuous, smooth operations.
- Configure and ensure the reliable operation of operating systems, thin clients, and various hardware (printers, VoIPs, DVTCs).
- Image workstations and laptops using manual or automated deployment methods. Maintain and update workstations with current drivers, firmware, and software updates.
- Promptly resolve system/network issues and provide routing tech support for customers. Physically inspect and test fiber infrastructure in telecommunications closets as needed to resolve connectivity issues.
- Basic understanding and knowledge of printer hardware (HP, Lexmark), KVMs, and various peripherals.
- Monitor support tickets and ensure timely resolution (experience with ServiceNow a plus)
- Solid understanding of system server administration concepts to include DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, NTFS permissions, BitLocker, Print and File services)
- Conduct hardware and software audits to ensure compliance with established security, policy, and configuration guidelines.
- Work with the Cybersecurity team with resolving security violations and assist in ensuring all systems and users remain compliant with organizational standards.
- Work with STIG Viewer to maintain information system compliance with DISA security policies and procedures (IAVAs, etc.)
- Collaborate with the logistics team to accurately account for hardware asset inventory.
- Maintains current knowledge of rapidly changing technology, always on the lookout for new technologies, and works with management to evolve current processes.
- Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products.
- Provides advice, training, and technical guidance to end-users to enhance productivity.
- Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced staff members.
- Apply analytical skills to research and perform root cause analysis, moving from reactive fixes to proactive solutions.
- Provide excellent communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with management and high-ranking customers via phone and email.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also thriving in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment without sacrificing quality.
- Participate in special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Must achieve and maintain the Technical Expert Status Accreditation (TESA) as defined in the Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) between the United States and the Federal Republic of Germany. In order to qualify for TESA, the candidate must have one of the following: Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of specialized experience, OR; an Associate's degree plus 7 years of specialized experience, OR; A major certification plus 7 years of specialized experience, OR; 11 years of specialized experience
- 3+ years of systems administration experience required.
- Must possess and maintain a Top Secret/SCI Clearance
- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience required.
- Must meet DoW 8570 requirements and be eligible for IAT level II (Security+ or equivalent) access upon hire for positions with elevated privileges and must obtain ITIL V4 Foundation within six months of hire.
- Must be able to occasionally lift heavy items, e.g. HP printers, Dell servers, monitors, and etc.
- Additional specific certifications may be required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting military and multinational customers preferred.
- Experience with direct customer support for both internal and external customers.
- Experience with implementing and maintaining systems documentation.
- Experience with batch scripting, Powershell, MECM, Active Directory, DHCP, File/Print Server, RDP, and related Microsoft technologies a plus.
- Experience with VMWare, Hyper-V, Horizon View, or other virtualization technologies a plus.
- Knowledge of basic TCP/IP and Microsoft Networking concepts.
- Familiarity with event viewer and log analysis tools like Splunk, Elastic.
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools like SolarWinds.
