Senior Product Manager, Student Loans Marketplace
Who is Credible?
Credible is a leading U.S. consumer finance marketplace, transforming the way consumers access and compare financial products. We operate at a consumer and enterprise level. On the consumer side, we help millions of people make smarter financial decisions by comparing personalized, pre-qualified offers across student loans, personal loans, mortgages, credit cards, and insurance — all without impacting their credit score. On the enterprise side, we power financial product comparison and distribution through deep integrations and partnerships with lenders, insurance carriers, and financial institutions, as well as providing marketplace technology and capabilities to third-party partners and distribution channels.
About the Role:
Credible is looking for an AI-native Senior Product Manager to take ownership of our student loan lending marketplace, our flagship product. You will own and deliver features from ideation through launch, in close collaboration with design, engineering, and data. Primarily, you'll focus on the front-end experience that helps students and parents discover and compare options across multiple lenders.
This role requires AI fluency in both how you work and what you build. In your workflow, you bring working concepts rather than documents describing them, using AI tools like Claude to prototype ideas, run your own analysis, and validate concepts before committing engineering resources. You bring the experience and rigor to know which few ideas are worth building, and the drive to see them through.
In the product itself, you will shape how Credible reaches users as loan discovery moves beyond the comparison page and into AI assistants and embedded experiences, and you will determine where AI belongs within our own funnel to make comparing and choosing a loan simpler. Where AI touches the product, you own the quality bar: defining what good output looks like, measuring it, and ensuring it stays accurate and compliant.
Teams will look to you and your product leadership to guide the product's vision and direction and to achieve team OKRs.
Responsibilities:
- Think Strategically and Creatively: Deliver new features for growing the student loan marketplace and align them with Credible's long-term vision. Synthesize market trends, regulatory shifts in the student loan space, user needs, and rapidly advancing AI capabilities to continually reinvent the platform, including how it reaches users beyond our own site.
- Own AI-Powered Product Surfaces: Shape how Credible helps students and parents discover and choose loans through AI assistants, embedded experiences, and AI-assisted flows within our own funnel. Decide where AI meaningfully improves the experience and where it doesn't belong.
- Own the Roadmap: Manage roadmaps for both private student loans and student loan refinance products by identifying opportunities, weighing tradeoffs, and prioritizing team resources. Decide not only what to build, but what to remove when it isn't earning its place.
- Prototype and Validate: Use AI tools like Claude to build working concepts, test them quickly, and validate ideas with real artifacts. Explore many approaches, and find the ones that resonate with users and lenders.
- Make Data-Driven Decisions: Utilize data analysis, A/B testing, and user research to validate assumptions, uncover insights, and drive meaningful improvements to the business. Run your own queries and analysis rather than depending on others for every question.
- Lead and Collaborate Across Functions: Proactively engage cross-functional teams to brainstorm innovative solutions and lead their implementation. Collaborate with engineering, design, data, partnerships, and operations teams to deliver product enhancements and achieve team OKRs.
- Operate Responsibly in a Regulated Space: Student lending is compliance-constrained. Understand where AI-assisted work and AI-generated output need human review, where claims and disclosures matter, and how to move fast without creating regulatory or trust risk.
Education and Experience:
- At least 4 years of experience in a Product Management role for web-based consumer Internet products
- Bachelor's Degree
- Deep, demonstrated fluency using AI tools in your actual workflow for prototyping, analysis, research synthesis, and writing, with a clear point of view on where they help and where they don't
- Genuine interest in and ideas about building AI-powered product experiences, not just using AI to work faster
- Ability to bring working concepts to life, whether through AI tooling, light coding, or strong partnership with engineering
- Familiarity with how to evaluate AI output quality, or clear aptitude and appetite to own it
- Ability to use data, your experience, and product instincts to identify the most impactful areas of focus, including running your own analysis
- Strong analytical abilities across spreadsheets, SQL, and other analytics tools
- Exceptional problem-solving and communication skills
- Strong project management skills, and willingness/ability to own critical parts of the product, end-to-end
- Thrive on collaboration with other teams to accomplish shared goals
- Technical aptitude sufficient to work closely with engineers, evaluate implementation approaches, and weigh cost/benefit tradeoffs
- A bias toward experimentation and the discipline to walk away from your own ideas when the evidence says so
