Producibility Engr I
Producibility Engineer I support manufacturing quality, fabrication readiness, and product manufacturability by helping ensure production requirements are clear, controlled, compliant with applicable standards, and executable on the shop floor. This entry-level engineering role focuses on quality assurance while also supporting process documentation, production support, and continuous improvement activities.
The Producibility Engineer I serves as a quality focal point by supporting process inspections, final inspections, and production issue resolution. The role works closely with Engineering and Production teams to review technical documentation, identify manufacturability concerns, support nonconformance investigations, and maintain alignment between engineering requirements and fabrication execution.
- Support quality assurance activities for fabricated parts, assemblies, and manufacturing processes.
- Assist with review and interpretation of engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and work instructions.
- Ensure the latest blueprint approved revisions are available to fabrication and production teams.
- Support manufacturability reviews by identifying potential fabrication, tolerance, material, tooling, inspection, and process-capability concerns.
- Help investigate quality issues, nonconformances, defects, and production concerns while supporting root cause analysis and corrective action follow-up.
- Provide technical support to fabrication teams to clarify requirements and reduce production delays.
- Assist in documenting process improvements, inspection requirements, quality alerts, lessons learned, and job instructions.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Production to improve product producibility, reduce rework, and support first-time quality.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities focused on quality, cost, schedule, safety, and production efficiency.
- Support data collection and reporting related to quality performance, defects, rework, scrap, and process improvement opportunities.
- Promote compliance with company procedures, customer requirements, safety standards, and quality management system expectations.

- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, bills of material, specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
- Basic understanding of quality assurance principles, inspection methods, defect prevention, and corrective action processes.
- Working knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620, IPC-A-610, IPC J-STD-001, and AS9100 standards.
- Familiarity with electronic fabrication processes such as harnesses, electrical boxes, test stands, etc.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify gaps, inconsistencies, or risks in technical documentation.
- Continuous improvement mindset with willingness to support root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
- Good communication skills with the ability to work effectively with Engineering, customers, and shop-floor personnel.
- Basic knowledge of lean manufacturing, process improvement, first article inspection, mistake-proofing, or quality tools is preferred.
- Ability to organize technical information, maintain revision control, and follow established procedures.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Willingness to learn quality systems, manufacturing processes, regulatory expectations, and customer-specific requirements.
- Hands-on attitude and willingness to spend time on the production floor supporting fabrication and quality needs.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related technical field; equivalent technical experience may be considered.
- 1–2 years of experience in electronics manufacturing, fabrication, quality, engineering, or a related technical environment.
- Working knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620, IPC-A-610, IPC J-STD-001, and AS9100 standards.
- Basic ability to read and understand technical drawings, specifications, and manufacturing work instructions.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control, and production documentation.
- Ability to communicate clearly in verbal and written form with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and follow safety, quality, and procedural requirements.
- Strong ownership, learning agility, attention to detail, and commitment to supporting quality and production execution.
- English communication skills appropriate for reading technical documents, preparing reports and on-line meetings.
