Eaton’s ES GEIS BLD division is currently seeking a Welder - 1st Shift (Cable Tray) at our Reno, NV facility! The hourly rate for this position is $28.07 per hour. The core hours are 6:15am to 2:45pm. Overtime may exceed these hours and be mandatory at times.The hourly rate for this position is $28.07 per hour. The Welder will direct and assist Assembler II’s with assembling ladders as well as welding the cable tray ladders and fittings. In this function, you will: * Perform simple repetitive tasks and assembly of parts and components * Use bolts, screws, hand tools, clips and other fastening devices * Operate welding unit, perform minor adjustments, and weld both aluminum and steel * Work under close supervision and may work from models, samples, or engineering drawings * Remove excess weld, slag, spatter, and rough spots from workpieces using grinders, brushes, chisels, or scrapers * Support all facility Continuous Improvement and LEAN initiatives including, but not limited to: o Maintain 5-S (sort, set in order, shine, standardize, sustain) throughout shop floor and office areas o Track and sustain all visual management tools such as, but not limited to: layered audits, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) boards, and any additional LEAN tools that are deemed necessary to provide direction, goals and status to the shop floor o Encourage, support, and actively participate in Kaizen improvements and events throughout the facility, department, and area of responsibility ## Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: * No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Reno, NV will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation * Experience accurately measuring components and products utilizing tape measures & calipers * Experience reading engineering drawings * A minimum of 1 year welding experience in a manufacturing environment (MIG/TIG) * Experience adjusting and troubleshooting welding equipment * Experience identifying defects and measure workpiece to ensure conformance * Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position.
