Northrop Grumman Defense has an opening for a Systems Engineer (level 2)/Principal Systems Engineer (level 3) to join its Payload Re-entry System (PRS) team in Huntsville, AL in support of the Sentinel Program. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities, and associated infrastructure.
What you will get to do:
As a PRS Systems Engineer the primary job responsibilities are the following:
* Perform requirements analysis, develop source data for requirements, generate requirements verification, and help prepare test plans and procedures.
* Participate in technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for mechanical, electrical and integrated systems.
* Apply the principles of engineering to design components and systems using applicable standards and specifications
* Verify specifications and designs through modeling and simulation, test data processing, and performance analysis.
* Support all phases of the systems lifecycle including concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.
* Develop Basis of Estimates (BOEs) for the systems engineering function.
* Interface with United States Air Force Customer.
Basic Qualifications:
Systems Engineer (Level 2):
* Bachelor's degree in STEM with 2 years of experience, 0 years of experience with master’s degree.
* Must have an active DoD Secret clearance or higher at the time of application.
* Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business need
* 1 year of experience with Core Systems Engineering (Requirements, Architecture, Interfaces, or Verification)
* 1 year of experience with any of the following tools and languages: DOORS, Cameo, MagicDraw, UML, SysML
Principal Systems Engineer (Level 3):
* Bachelor's degree in STEM with 5 years of related experience, 3 years of related experience with master’s degree, or 1 year of related experience with PhD.
* Must have an active DoD Secret clearance or higher at the time of application.
