Micron is seeking an experienced technical leader to accelerate equipment and hardware differentiation, strengthen strategic supplier collaborations, and drive long-term manufacturing capability development across the global Front-End network.
This role will serve as a senior individual contributor within the CPEE organization, working across Process Engineering, Technology Development, Manufacturing, Procurement, and external equipment/material suppliers to identify, evaluate, and deploy breakthrough technologies that improve factory capability, productivity, cost competitiveness, and technology readiness.
The successful candidate will combine deep semiconductor process and equipment knowledge with strong leadership, influence, and execution skills to bridge technology innovation and high-volume manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
Hardware Advancement & Technology Differentiation
- Lead identification, evaluation, and deployment of differentiated equipment and hardware innovations for high volume manufacturing readiness
- Develop and proliferate artificial intelligence and equipment automation
- Drive collaboration with strategic suppliers to influence future equipment architecture, subsystem design, and technology roadmaps.
- Develop strategies to improve equipment capability, reliability, throughput, yield, sustainability, and cost efficiency.
Manufacturing Roadmap Management (MRM)
- Develop and maintain multi-year manufacturing capability roadmaps aligned with Micron technology and business objectives.
- Bridge Technology Development and High Volume Manufacturing organizations to accelerate deployment of new capabilities.
- Identify capability gaps and define improvement plans required to support future nodes and manufacturing challenges.
- Drive cross-functional alignment and execution across global sites.
Strategic Supplier Engagement
- Serve as a senior technical interface between Micron and key equipment/material suppliers.
- Benchmark industry technologies and identify emerging opportunities.
- Build technical partnerships that accelerate innovation and create competitive advantage.
- Coordinate cross-functional supplier initiatives involving engineering, procurement, operations, and technology development teams.
Technical Leadership
- Provide technical direction across multiple process and equipment domains.
- Influence technical decisions across organizational boundaries through data-driven analysis and collaborative engagement.
- Mentor engineers and emerging technical leaders.
- Promote systematic problem solving, innovation culture, and technical excellence.
Minimum Qualifications
- PhD with 8+ years, MS with 12+ years, or BS with 15+ years of semiconductor industry experience.
- Demonstrated experience in semiconductor process development, equipment development, integration, advanced manufacturing, or technology commercialization.
- Strong understanding of front-end semiconductor manufacturing and process/equipment interaction.
- Track record of leading complex technical programs involving multiple organizations and stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and influence skills.
- Ability to operate effectively in a global, highly matrixed environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Extensive experience spanning both technology development and high-volume manufacturing environments.
- Demonstrated success translating technology concepts into scalable manufacturing solutions.
- Experience working closely with semiconductor equipment suppliers and industry partners.
- Recognized technical leadership through patents, publications, industry presentations, or significant technical achievements.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Key unit process areas and relevant process integration
- Advanced memory technologies
- Equipment architecture and subsystem development
- Advanced packaging or heterogeneous integration
- Manufacturing technology roadmap development
- Equipment productivity and cost optimization
