The Opportunity
As the Data Platform Architect within our BST GI Analytics & Data Platform organization, you will be the chief architect behind the future of Hitachi Energy’s Grid Integration (GI) data landscape.
In this strategic role, you will design, scale, and govern the unified data platform that fuels our advanced analytics, business intelligence, and digital transformation initiatives. You will work hand-in-hand with the Team Manager for Analytics & BI to translate complex business demands into robust, modern data infrastructure.
This role requires a balance of high-level technical vision and rigorous discipline, ensuring our platform is scalable, high-performing, and tightly aligned with internal corporate frameworks and global data regulations.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Design the Data Architecture: Define the blueprint for our data platform, establishing scalable, resilient, and reusable data flow architectures that span from backend data warehouse storage to frontend analytical layers.
- Bridge Strategy & Technology: Partner closely with the Team Manager and business stakeholders to understand emerging data needs and design the infrastructure required to support them.
- Enforce Data Governance & Quality: Architect robust frameworks for Master Data management, data validation, and interface integrity, ensuring our data assets are clean, reliable, and accessible.
- Drive Process & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the data platform’s architecture fully complies with internal PPS (Project Power System) project guidelines, ITIL frameworks, and global data security and privacy regulations.
- Lead Technical Innovation: Keep a pulse on the evolving analytics landscape, introducing modern architectural best practices that optimize platform performance while managing technical debt.
Your Background
- Data Architecture Expertise: Proven track record as a Data Architect, Cloud Architect, or Principal Data Engineer, with deep experience designing enterprise-scale data platforms and data warehouse environments, familiarity with Azure cloud services, Microsoft Fabric, and Databricks
- Pipeline & Interface Mastery: Strong expertise in data modeling, reusable data flow pipelines, ETL/ELT integration patterns, and managing complex interfaces across disparate data silos.
- Governance & Master Data Focus: Solid experience implementing Master Data management principles, data quality frameworks, and robust data security protocols in a regulated environment.
- Process & Framework Discipline: Practical understanding of structured project environments like PPS (or equivalent gate-model frameworks) and ITIL service operations.
- Collaborative Communicator: Ability to articulate complex architectural concepts clearly to both technical engineering teams and business leadership, ensuring strategic alignment across the board.
