Job Description
As a Security Officer Armed Cruiser Driver Patrol in Houston, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Armed Patrol Officer in a busy retail location, where you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, and remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents. This is a driving and armed post, offering the chance to support customers and staff through strong communication, quick response, and teamwork while reflecting our values of reliability, innovation, and integrity.

- Provide customer service to visitors, customers, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, using de-escalation techniques and reporting details through appropriate channels.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the retail location, including entrances, exits, sales floor areas, parking areas, and the exterior perimeter.
- Monitor for unusual activity, policy violations, and/or potential theft concerns, and help to deter disruptive behavior through visible presence and professional interaction.
- Document observations, incidents, and/or daily activities, and communicate with site contacts, supervisors, and when needed public law enforcement or emergency personnel.
Minimum Requirements:
- Have 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, corrections, or military experience, or 5 or more years of armed security-related experience.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- A Level III Armed Certification is required in Texas only.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
