Job Description:
Systems Engineer – Global Major Accounts (Northern California Bay Area)
We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer – Global Major Accounts to support strategic enterprise customers throughout the Northern California Bay Area. This is a highly customer-facing, pre-sales role where you'll partner closely with Account Managers to design, position, and deliver innovative networking solutions that address complex business and technical challenges.
What You'll Do
As a Systems Engineer, you will serve as a trusted technical advisor throughout the sales cycle by:
Partnering with Account Managers to identify, qualify, and close complex enterprise opportunities.
Designing and presenting end-to-end networking solutions that align with customer business objectives.
Delivering technical presentations, product demonstrations, workshops, and Proofs of Concept (PoCs).
Developing technical proposals and solution architectures for enterprise customers.
Positioning HPE Networking solutions against competitive offerings while articulating business value.
Building long-term relationships with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.
Supporting demand-generation activities alongside channel and technology partners.
Maintaining expertise in emerging networking technologies and competitive market trends.
Helping drive opportunities from initial discovery through successful deployment and customer adoption.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) with 8+ years of related experience, or a Master's degree with 5+ years of experience.
Strong pre-sales, systems engineering, or infrastructure engineering experience supporting enterprise customers.
Excellent customer-facing communication, presentation, and consultative selling skills.
Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value for customers.
High-density enterprise wireless LANs
Layer 2 switching and Layer 3 routing (BGP, OSPF)
TCP/IP networking, IP addressing, and subnetting
Network Access Control (NAC) solutions such as Aruba ClearPass or Cisco ISE
Enterprise routing, switching, and campus networking
Python scripting and network automation frameworks
Cloud-managed networking platforms and cloud technologies
Location & Travel
Candidates must reside in the Northern California Bay Area.
This is a customer-facing role requiring regular travel throughout the assigned territory to support customer meetings, presentations, demonstrations, and Proofs of Concept.

This range reflects the minimum to maximum combined base and target-level sales compensation that would be paid if the hire performs at 100% of their sales plan. Of that on-target pay amount, the mix of base salary and target-level sales compensation is 75%/25%."
