You will actively participate in medical staff meetings and committees, fostering a culture of shared decision-making and professional development.Qualifications:Board-certified/eligible physician assistants.New graduates, residents, and fellows are welcome to apply.Authorized to work in the United States.Scheduling:We offer a flexible schedule to help ensure a healthy work-life balance, allowing you to effectively manage your professional responsibilities and personal time.Key Responsibilities:Provide high-quality care for medical and surgical patients in a Level 3 trauma community hospital with a 15-bed census, 5-bed ICU, and 22 inpatient psychiatry beds.Serve a diverse patient population with a low-volume ED and high acuity, delivering specialty services in cardiology, gastroenterology, neurology, and other areas.Manage critical and emergent cases, including stroke patients. The hospital is a designated primary receiving stroke center and has a geriatric-accredited emergency department.Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including cardiology, gastroenterology, neurology, and psychiatry specialists, to provide comprehensive care.Work in a hospital with a 10-bed Department of Correction (DOC) unit, one of only three in southern New York, offering specialized care for incarcerated individuals.Participate in bi-monthly team meetings to foster a supportive and flexible work culture.Living and Working in Mount Vernon:Mount Vernon is where urban convenience meets suburban charm.
