What You Can Expect
The Senior ITC Specialist – Japan is responsible for managing and overseeing Invoice-to-Cash (ITC) activities for the Japan market, with a primary focus on Accounts Receivable, Credit Management, Collections, and financial governance. The role is accountable for driving AR performance, managing credit risk, supporting timely collection of receivables, and ensuring compliance with corporate policies and internal controls.
How You'll Create Impact
Market Ownership & Stakeholder Management:
- Serve as the primary ITC contact for the Japan market, supporting Accounts Receivable, Collections and Credit Management matters
- Monitor Japan AR performance and key metrics, including DSO, overdue receivables, collections performance and bad debt exposure
- Partner with Japan Finance, Commercial and other cross-functional stakeholders to address AR and credit-related issues and drive timely resolution
- Support implementation of APAC and global ITC policies, processes and best practices within the Japan market.
- Identify and escalate significant collection, credit and operational risks to ITC leadership in a timely manner
Accounts Receivable & Credit Management:
- Perform customer credit reviews and credit limit assessments in accordance with corporate policies and established approval requirements
- Manage credit-related escalations and support timely resolution of credit-blocked orders
- Drive resolution of customer disputes and other issues impacting collection.
- Review and oversee credit note activities, ensuring appropriate approval, supporting documentation and compliance with established controls.
- Analyze credit note trends and root causes and work with relevant stakeholders on corrective actions.
- Assess bad debt exposure and support the preparation of bad debt provisions in accordance with corporate requirements
Audit Support & Financial Compliance:
- Coordinate and support internal and external audit requests for Japan, ensuring timely and accurate submission of required documentation
- Support SOX and other applicable financial control requirements, including control testing and remediation of identified issues.
- Track audit and control findings and work with relevant stakeholders to ensure timely closure of agreed actions.
Process Improvement & Strategic Initiatives:
- Identify and drive process improvement opportunities within Japan ITC operations.
- Support automation and digitalization initiatives to improve process efficiency, accuracy and control.
- Participate in APAC and global ITC projects and support implementation of new processes, systems and tools within Japan.
- Monitor the effectiveness of implemented improvements and support sustainable adoption of new ways of working.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with ERP and ITC AR Cloud systems such as SAP and Esker.
- Ability to deal with competing priorities and projects and work under time pressure
Your Background
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in accounts receivable, credit management, or shared services
- Experience supporting the Japan market is highly preferred.
- Previous experience working in a Shared Services/GBS environment an advantage
- Experience with SAP, Esker, or similar ERP/ITC platforms is preferred.
- Strong English communication skills are required.
- Business-level proficiency in Japanese is required to effectively communicate with Japan stakeholders and support business requirements; JLPT N1 or N2 certification is preferred
