The Role

We’re looking for a Chief of Staff to the Chief Product & Technology Officer (CPTO) to join our Product, Engineering & Research team and contribute to our mission of transforming clinical research through data-driven insights.

This is a hybrid role based out of our UK hub, with periodic travel for leadership offsites and board preparation. Exact on-site cadence and travel percentage to be confirmed.

Requirements

What You’ll Bring

  • Typically 6–10 years in roles that reward structured thinking and execution – management consulting, strategy or operations, programme or product management, a prior chief-of-staff role, or a fast-paced startup or scale-up.
  • Strong problem-solving: you break down ambiguous problems, structure them, and drive to clear, evidence-based recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to tailor complex topics to different audiences.
  • Exceptionally organised and reliable, able to run multiple workstreams in parallel without dropping details.
  • Technical fluency and curiosity around product, engineering, and research topics, with the ability to build trust and influence without formal authority.

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to clinical trials, life sciences, or regulated software environments.
  • Experience supporting a senior executive or leadership team.
  • Familiarity with OKRs, roadmapping, and modern product and engineering operating models.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Support the CPTO in setting and refreshing the product, engineering, and research strategy, translating high-level direction into clear goals, OKRs, and priorities.
  • Prepare materials and analysis for board updates, leadership offsites, and quarterly planning, framing key decisions and trade-offs cleanly.
  • Own the operating rhythm of the organisation – leadership meetings, staff meetings, and reviews – including agendas, pre-reads, decisions, and follow-through.
  • Coordinate delivery across product, engineering, and research so dependencies are surfaced early and initiatives stay on track.
  • Draft and refine communications on behalf of the CPTO, including leadership updates, all-hands content, and clear narratives for different audiences.
  • Take on ambiguous, cross-cutting special projects – from operating-model changes to new process design – and drive them to a clear recommendation or outcome.

Benefits

What We Offer – United Kingdom

  • Private Medical Insurance through Vitality Health (full hospital cover, 24/7 GP, and therapy sessions)
  • Group Critical Illness Cover with Aviva
  • Life Insurance (death-in-service lump sum)
