## Company: Qualcomm India Private Limited ## Job Area: Engineering Group, Engineering Group > Software Engineering General Summary: Job Summary: We are looking for a Engineer with experience in Python‑based debug and development tools for SoC and embedded platforms. This role focuses on designing scalable host‑side tools that interface with silicon, firmware, and hardware to enable efficient debugging, validation, and customer enablement. The candidate should have a solid foundation in object‑oriented Python, strong understanding of operating systems and SoC architecture, and hands‑on experience working across hardware–software boundaries. Key Responsibilities: * Design and develop Python‑based debug and analysis tools using object‑oriented principles and proven design patterns * Working knowledge of C * Build efficient, maintainable, and optimized solutions following PEP‑8, pylint, and secure coding best practices * Develop, cross‑compile, package, and debug tools across Linux and Windows host environments * Work closely with hardware, firmware, and validation teams during platform bring‑up and integration * Participate in code reviews, follow upstream‑friendly workflows, and contribute to shared codebases * Create clear, high‑quality customer‑facing technical documentation Required Qualifications: * Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech/MS) in Computer Science, Embedded Systems, Electrical/Electronics, or related field * Strong proficiency in Python, with deep focus on object‑oriented programming * Solid understanding of operating system concepts * Good understanding of microcontroller and SoC architectures * Strong analytical and debugging skills * Working knowledge of SDLC and Agile development processes * Experience with pytest, Python packaging, and dependency management Preferred / Nice‑to‑Have Skills: * Version control and collaboration tools: Git, GitHub/GitLab, Perforce * Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Airflow, or similar) * Debugging experience using PDB or equivalent tools * Knowledge of other object‑oriented languages such as C++ or Java * Experience with cloud‑based or web‑based development environments * Contributions or interest in open‑source systems software * Academic projects, internships, or thesis work involving microcontrollers or SoC platforms Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
